FrithRa
Greetings Nexus, For the better part of the last week I've been struggling with an issue that cropped up with a mod I really like called Concrete Walls with Window Glass. At first there wasn't any problems but when I stopped playing in order to fire up the game with another mod to help me correct some building issues (Move Anywhere) I noticed something screwy start to happen. All of the glass turns a bright shade of purple and it's been virtually impossible to fix it. I've done everything from ensuring mods and the game are up to date and there are no missing or corrupt files. I've removed the Fallout4 and Fallout4Prefs INI files and had the game generate fresh ones. Even went so far as to uninstall all my mods, the game itself, and then install everything fresh. Issue still persists. The only time I seem to make any kind of temporary progress is when I load a vanilla save first after starting the game with my mods installed and then switch over to my modded playthrough. There is a roughly 50/50 chance that some of the glass will revert to normal, but other models will retain that purple tint consistently. My conclusion? There must be a missing component as this is acting just like a missing texture scenario. I've tried submitting a bug report on the mod page but so far there is no reply from the author. I'm not skilled enough with the inner workings of mods to try and dissect things any further and figure out where the conflict lies. So I'm reaching out to the community as a whole now. If anyone can figure this out it would be the kind of Christmas miracle I need right about now. If it helps at all, I've noticed the purple glass issue is also affecting the refrigerators in the mod Crafting Goodies. They must be using the same asset. damanding
The glass in the fridges in Crafting Goodies does use a vanilla glass texture that has a known bug. It's a Bethesda bug unfortunately. I'm working with the author, Evanpox, of Crafting Goodies (and a couple other authors) on a combined clutter mod that includes everything from Crafting Goodies. I expect we'll be ready to publish within a week or so. Our mod has a mesh change to both the fridges and stoves from Crafting Goodies that just removes that glass. FrithRa
So this is likely something the mod author has to change so it doesn't use that particular glass texture? No other way around it?
damanding
So this is likely something the mod author has to change so it doesn't use that particular glass texture? No other way around it?Unfortunately yes. It's an intermittent bug and doesn't affect everyone, or even affect the people it does consistently. So possibly a game engine bug.
