devinbio
Hi everyone, I recently purchased Skyrim off of Steam and am having some performance issues. Upon installation, Skyrim decided I could run on "Medium" settings--this did not work. Upon starting up the game, I had bad stutter in the intro dragon sequences. As a result, I went to settings and played around with them. Soon, I found that I could have High textures, High fade (for all), Low Shadow, no anti-aliasing nor water reflection, etc. and that I had no stutter!! But it turns out this was only outdoors. In my first dungeon I encountered very, very bad stutter. I have not checked the FPS with a program yet but I know it's very low (and very frustrating). I tried lowering ALL of my settings to their lowest setting and it does improve, a little. It seems like turning Object Fade down entirely helped, but I still stutter in the dungeon (and it's a pain not seeing objects until I'm right upon them). It seems that the worst thing making me stutter are beams of light coming from above with dust particles through them. I'm seeking any ideas on what I can adjust to get rid of this stutter! The game runs PERFECTLY outdoors (even on much higher settings) and yet the dungeon is so bad..... My specs:GeForce 9500 GTIntel Core 2 Quad Processor Q66005120 MB memoryWindows Vista Anything else I need to include? Please, please, please, would love advice so I can enjoy this amazing game.
