WatchTheShow
Every few seconds all the shadows in Skyrim move, and then they stop. Then they move a little more, and then they stop. Even if you use "set timescale", this doesn't fix the weird shadow behavior. My question is, is there a console command to smooth out the shadow animations, or is it hard-wired in the game's code? It's aggravating to have all these nice textures, only to have the shadows do a slideshow all over it. Here's a video example: (not my video, but one I found) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es84W6A1XsQ I found an even better video showing what I'm trying to describe in case I confused anyone: P.S. Sorry for changing the videos around, but I keep finding better and better examples of what I'm talking about. WatchTheShow
Yes, I know that's the sun moving :P but the question was, how can I make it move smoother. From the video you can see the shadows move like this: move. stop. move. stop. move. stop. See the problem? It's very jarring and ugly. Real shadows ALWAYS move, but very, very slowly. I just want a smoother transition. As I said before in my first post, set timescale doesn't work either. If you set timescale 5,000 the shadows move like: MOVE STOP MOVE STOP MOVE STOP!!! xD It's really funny to watch. If you set timescale to 1 the shadows move like: moooooooooooooooooove. stop for 5 minutes. mooooooooooove. stop for 5 minutes. Masternaut
Do you have your shadows on ultra that may help and if not request that a mod be made to fix it.
WatchTheShow
Yes my shadows are on ultra. Does anyone else have this jerky shadow problem or am I the only one? It's not the blocky shadows, it's how the shadows are moving and then suddenly stopping. They're moving in increments.

WatchTheShow
No your not the only one I get that to man... Ah, that makes me feel a bit better. I saw a comment somewhere that claimed a console command could fix this, but I couldn't find the console command. I'm assuming now that said console command is a myth. Masternaut
I don't know how that would even be possible to use a command, like i said though post it in mod request with that video and maybe someone will fix it
Sunnie
You will never be able to get it completely smoothed out, but you can improve it some by adding the following lines in your SkyrimPrefs.ini under: [Display]fSunShadowUpdateTime=0fSunUpdateThreshold=0.

Edit: I tried it out in game, and it didn't seem to make a difference, or it was a really small difference >< Either way, I made a request in the mod request forum so hopefully someone may take the challenge or wait until the CK comes out.
