Suspected mod compatibility issue - Experiencing CTD and Stuttering

Hello, All,

This is my first time posting in the Forums, and I just finished reading the "how to ask for help" topic, so I hope I included everything necessary. Of course if anything is missing please let me know and I'll be more than happy to provide.

I'll explain my issue. I have >80 mods implemented in my game, and started running into issues that occur on irregular intervals:

I have been experiencing CTDs when moving from inside rooms to the overworld, or when leaving a town to the overworld.

Other times I reach a loading screen from an inside area or town going into the overworld, and the loading screen remains for upwards of 5 mins.

Even without crashing, nearly every load screen takes at least 2 mins to move through, from starting a new game, to simply moving in between rooms in a dungeon.

I also constantly experience micro and even major stuttering from anything to simply moving the camera, to navigating the UI, to moving around the environment; even while standing still and doing nothing I sometimes see this stuttering.

I imagine it is a mod compatibility issue, but even after looking through the mods I downloaded to check their compatibility, googling additional compatibility issues, and running LOOT, I've still not seen what is causing the issue.

I have disabled all mods, and run the game, but still see experience the stuttering (though to a much lesser degree), and don't have issues with the load times or CTD.

CTDs on loading and/or changing cells are often caused by memory issues. You got a lot of really large mods - Falskaar, Sumerset Isles, Dreamborne Islands. These mods will need memory to load. So will the HighRes Packs.

Don't get me wrong, but your rig isn't the strongest. You might just have reached its limits.

As for the CTDs with mods, you can try "Continue game no crash": http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78557/?

TBH I doubt if it will be of much use, but you can give it a try.

Looking at you load order, I noticed another thing: "The Dance of Death" is severely outdated. Use VioLens instead. Don't think that's the cause of your problems though.

You are going ot need a better PC.
I run Skyrim off its own SSD, and with an i7 4770k and still get CTDs some times. They seem pretty gone for me lately, but none the less, your computer isn't very good.

I would limit myself to non-scripted mods. Maybe SkyRe, and some other no script mods.

Algabar:

Thanks a lot for the advise. I realize that my rig is certainly dated, It's about 6 years old to date. I will give a shot unloading some of the memory hogging mods like Summerset and Dreamborne, as to be honest I haven't even been able to get that far without crashes to even make it to these areas.

I realize my rig is dated at this point, it's about 6 years old, and I probably am pushing it. Is there a way to determine what mods are not script heavy so I can still maximize the input without hogging too much memory?

Delete ETaC. It was causing issues for me, maybe it was just me, but it adds more load to your environments.

I think there is something to that, I love the environment ETaC creates, but like was noted above, it looks like my current rig can't handle it. Thanks for the advise.

I will use all of your input and go for another round to see if things improve. Thanks!

Ok, and thanks for not taking offense. Some people would get butt hurt, lol.

Another benefit of using mods without scripts is that your saves are much safer. Typically you can just save the game (in an interior space), and close it, remove the mod and keep on truckin.
