waanzin
Hello everybody, I'm an ubernoob in modding (i started learning about it a week ago). As a first mod i just wanted to create a new iron longsword. So i learned how to work with max 3ds 2012 to make a sword. I succeeded to get the mesh into the game but i don't know how to get the textures wich are made in 3ds max in the game. If anyone could help me with this then i would really appreciate that :D Greetings,Waanzin PS: sorry about my english, dutch is my mother languish
Dragten
You dont make textures in 3d max, you make them in graphic programs like photoshop. You need .dds texture files for your model.
Perraine
Is the texture file your using saved on your computer? like "Sword Texture.tga" or "Sword Texture.png"? Or something like that? If so, then you'll need a graphics program like Photoshop (costs you $) or Gimp (free) to edit the file and more importantly, save the file in the correct format which is a Direct X texture File ( .dds )

I guess i will have to learn to work with photoshop or gimp then. I think max saves it all at once (textures and mesh together). Thanks for the answers! Perraine
Load up your model and see if it has an 'export' function for the 'maps' i.e. texture, diffuse, UV, Normal or something like that, I've never used 3DSMax but I can't believe it doesn't have that capaility.
