owlspirit
Hey guys. Just wanted to thank everyone for their involvement in this thread! This is an issue that's been annoying the crap outa me for a loooong time now. I just figured it was my computer, but now after reading this thread, I see it's probably my character's habits  I am also a hoarder and looter. I take everything I could ever concievably use or sell, and pick flowers compulsively although I rarely brew potions. I, too, have an old character (level 40) so she has a ton of accumulated junk. Time to dump it off, I guess. BUT... just a little confused... am I to understand that the only relevant inventory sizes are the size of the container inventory, and what is on my person? I can keep stashing stuff at my cottage without penalty, correct? Thanks again, to all those who actually know what they're doing.... I certainly don't ;)

But the issue will resurface if you have alot of things within a single container.
bben46
If you like to accumulate a lot of junk, you need not only somewhere to put it, but a quicker way to sort and put it into containers. Check out The Art of Speedy Depositing by Wolfhound http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9835 I have a room with 30 chests that I use, it takes me about 10 seconds to sort and store my accumulated loot into the appropriate containers.- I also use a Bag of holding so I can bring in a LOT of loot - weight has exceeded 5000 in some cases. The mod allows you to decide what goes in each container example: one handed enchanted blunt weapons not made by me plus shoes that are not enchanted. Then it remembers what goes where. iaai03
Oblivion's sort algorythm sucks. the load time is a function of how much stuff (line items) you have in your pack. The first thing I did was make all my ingredients .01 weight so all the potions would be in one place and have the same weight. I regularly dump my ingredients (storage) until I need more potions: ex. 250 feather all one value and one weight = 1 line item for sorting. Nothing seems to help with the locked containers loading: I go have a beer.
