Dragten
I was going to make this nice little mod for myself, but ran into a big problem with the texture.(Will say it right away, the original model and textures are not mine!)As you can see in the screenshot, the texture on the weapon looks like it is a normal map or something. Plus, the model can be seen through other objects.http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/7286/texturehelp.jpgAt the same time, the texture displays properly in NIFskope.I have tried just about everything by now to get it to work, with no effect. All the variables, strings, etc. on the nodes are the same as they are on a working mesh of another weapon. Such as shader number, etc. Anybody have any ideas what can be wrong?Help greatly appreciated.
Perraine
Check the " ghtingShaderProperty" sections of your mesh and make sure the path and filename they show correspond exactly to where the file is and what it's called (upper or lower case is ignored BTW) Also when was the last time you restarted Skyrim / Steam / Your Computer? Check your inventory and see if anything else is missing a texture ... Skyrim is a lazy game and after a while it will simply say "<hmpf> Nope I'm too tired and I've been running too long to be bothered loading that texture <hmpf>" hence the many "bug pics" of pink/purple/blue mountains/rocks/dragons/ that are scattered all over the net. Restart everything and have another look.
Dragten
Thank you for your reply. I cannot find anything called " ghtingShaderProperty" in my mesh, but all the textures have correct paths. As mentioned, they also show up properly in NIFskope.I know what you are talking about, with unloaded textures, as I have experienced it many times before. But unfortunately, this is not one of these case, as I have been restarting my game tons of times, to see if my changes worked.
Perraine
Sorry it might be " BSLightingShaderProperty" for weapons or something similar... However if you've checked that I really don't know what else it could be, someone with more experience in what all the little codes on the mesh refer too will have to have a look. puck247
I am still looking for a solution to this issue myself (black textures indoors, purple textures outdoors)-- could anyone provide an answer? All of the textures have the proper texture path and the settings in BSLightShaderProperty match those of a working (modded) mesh. Are there any problems with the mesh itself that can cause this issue?
