Question about using different mods on different characters

I were just wondering if there is any quick way except disable a few mods if i want to play on 2 different characters.

I want to be able to play on 1 save with mods and still be able to play on another save with other mods.

The thing about profiles might be it but i dont want to touch anything risking to lose my current modlist so any answers would be great.

Different profiles are the way to go, however NMM doesn't really handle this correctly. To my knowledge the profile system of Mod Organizer 2 is the only way to conveniently and correctly handle separate save games with separate profiles. The good news is that if you want to switch, as long as you install all the same mods and in the same order as you had it under NMM, your save game will still work so you won't have to start over.
