Skyrim SE Mods Backwards Compatible with Skyrim?

I've tried to find this answer on my own, however I can only find the reverse of it answered. My question is do Skyrim SE Mods work on non-special edition Skyrim clients? I ask because I'm hoping to help out with simpler mod requests as I learn basic modding, however I'm learning to do so on the Skyrim SE creation kit so I'm just curious if any mods I make will work on vanilla Skyrim as well as Skyrim Special Edition. I'm assuming that Skyrim vanilla mods don't work on Skyrim SE due to multiple reasons including the 64x nature as well as lack of resources found in various DLC so I'm not sure if there could be issues with a Skyrim client not having certain DLC assets needed for some Skyrim SE mods.

Thanks for any information.

No. You can convert mods from original Skyrim to the Special Edition, but not the other way around. There are a few exceptions to that rule, but it's better to just assume the answer is no.

The Creation Kit for Special Edition can convert old Skyrim ESP files to the new format and there are tools for converting NIFs and textures but there really aren't any tools for running the conversion backwards.

If you want to make mods that work in both versions you'll need to start from the original game then port them to special edition not the other way around.
