SlizeP
I'm kinda new to using mods, but I know how to install everything (I think). But when I install the mod into Oblivion it just appears as a huge yellow "!". I can't pick it up or anything. Judging by other threads, my problem isn't very common - but if someone knows what I'm doing wrong please help me!!!!!!
cazaam
First off, Welcome to the nexus forums. :D Your problem is that the nif file for your mod is probaly missing. this is possibly due to the modder putting the nif in a different file path than what you have. So when the game goes to look for the nof it isnt where it was told to look. To fix you may have to create the appropriate directory and put the nif in there or open the cs and change the nif file directory path to where you have it. Hope this helps but if it doesn't just tell me to slow down or wait for Vagrant0 (he always helps the newbies :D) and he'll put it better than me
cazaam
Oh and one thing that would help, can you find the .nif file and what mod is it?
SlizeP
I'm not at home right now, but there will probably be no problem finding the nif file. The mod I'm trying to download is Saurons Armor Chest. It is easy to find but there are no images of it, and when I equipp it it turns invisable or just a huge yellow box. But please explain more "noobish" since I'm no pro at this ;D
bben46
The yellow block is an indication that your unzip file did not place one of the files from the download into the proper subdirectory. I usually see this when you use one program to unzip and the author uses a different program to zip it. Most authors use the free 7-zip program, available here on Tesnexus - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579 7-zip will work with most zip programs and puts everything where it should be.
