A mod to bring other attributes back

I think I understand the reasons why Bethesda avoided attributes like STR INT PER, etc., regarding the Oblivion leveling system, yeah it sucked. Buuuuuut. I strongly believe these attributes couldve been implemented into the game without breaking the pace of leveling "as you play" , instead of Oblivion's skill "farming" for extra multlipliers.

My point is, maybe someone could step up with a mod that adds those attributes to the game. Not only for leveling deph purposes, but another reason (and important one) is that these attributes helped to define what kind of person was your character like, as in which physical and mental attributes has he/she developed. For roleplaying purposes this is great, since you may be a little bit more specific in your mind about what type of hero your character is, and ends up becoming. Maybe his STR is huge, therefore his physical hits are tremendously powerful and he can carry the heaviest armor with a lot of carrying capacity left. Maybe his WILL is his top attribute and magic barely damages him, and his destruction spells are more effective and less mana costly. Maybe his PER is extremely high and he can talk his way out of any situation or debate, maybe even getting better quest rewards.

It could be developed in a way that attribute points are the same every level (maybe 5 points per level). And you can just distribute them, then choose between health , magicka, stamina, and then add a perk. Just keep the rest, and add the attribute system. Also birthsigns as something permanent would be nice, its a critical choice at the beginning of the game (or it was), and it affects a lot the way your gameplay goes against different types of opponents. Its part of what your character is in battle.

Attributes can get involved into every single aspect of the game, and they can affect everything, thats why its so fun to have them and develop them as you see fit every time you level up. Its a lot of work, of course, I just want to know (I have never modded anything, just used lots of mods for Morro and Oblivion) if its posible to develop this in Skyrim, and if theres anyone willing to take up that job. The introduction of attributes, along as a character creation more similar to that of Daggerfall's (character background, attributes, bonuses, disadvantages and advantages depending on choice) would be amazing to mold a better immersion experience, and overall a better rpg feeling into the game.

What do you think?

I completely agree with you on this.

Daggerfall had countless skills and you could even pick disadvantages and advantages for your character.

There needs to be a mod to bring back the depth and scale of Daggerfall. It seems though that nobody seems to care about bringing back the depth of the old games any more, which is truly sad.

They would alienate console players if they added too many numbers...

Alienate console players with too many numbers? Was that a joke? Because I kinda laughed lol xD

I dont think its a complicated system, when I first played Morrowind, it was just plain obvious about how it all worked, it would just feels right to have attributes back, since they add depth to the entire game from every single thing affected by them. Adding health/magicka/stamina and perks every level up just doesnt feel like a deep leveling system, regarding the fact that most people will always use most of the same perks if their class is similar in gameplay, with attributes back we could actually have 2 different spellswords in 2 different saved games with different stats, and different strenghts in several situations even if their perks are the same. And the character creation from Daggerfall.. thats just what a true roleplaying experience needs. Depth and choice. This is what Skyrim lacks in character development terms.

Someone also mentioned in another thread something about making health, stamina and magicka upgrades at leveling give extra benefits, like extra resistance to poison/diseases (health), + mana regen % (magicka) and we already got the encumbrance thing for stamina.
