False "save corruption" during gameplay

I've been having this issue for a while now. For me it's around every 10 minutes. Removed skylightUI and began using the vanilla UI. So far its been around 2 hours and I've yet to see the glitch come up.

Some of us have tried default UI and it made no difference, I being one of them.

 

Skylight UI has also been removed due to not having had proper permissions from the author, so it's not a very accessible mod. *shrugs*

 

I think removing Unique Loot helped my issue, though getting 1-shot by draugr shouts also has me reloading quite frequently, so that may also help some.

 

*edit* the INI changes were great, except it doesn't help this bug. Generally stability seems even more solid, and I've played most of today testing. So, regardless not helping this particular issue, still great in helping overall :P

My combat crashing is a bit random sometimes even tho i just launched skyrim, i shout once and game crashes in start of combat. Sometimes i play for an hour with intense combat and game is fine still. I have very little time aswell to put serious hours into this game other than during weekends.

Well i got the save corruption again in a dungeon pretty fast actually no crashing this time <.<. I cant really say that my crashing is related to my mod setup much considering its random as hell. Save corruption is the same thing random.

For me it doesn't make any difference if i use Default UI, SkyUI 2.2, QD Inventory or Skylight UI.

It seems like I have been able to (hopefully for good) get rid of this pesky bug.

 

I have been playing for 3 hours straight now without any issues what so ever. Done a bunch of crafting too. I even installed Nexus Skyrim Overhaul that adds a metric crap-ton of items and scripts. (Mainly to lower the .esp count as much as I can without having to give up on lots of cool mods)

 

Current setup:

  • Save: Playtime 3h15m - 5.2MB - 166 Plugins - 41976 strings - 6077 scripts - 81795 script instances - 140 active scripts - Total Mod Count: 462 (pre-merge)

 

  • I first did my standard route (Alternate Start > Camping in the Woods, then going to Helgen Keep, heading into the cave to grab Ralof before killing the bandits in the camp to the south. Then heading over to the cabin of Anise to kick her ass before heading over to Riverwood. Once there I talk to Belethor to grab the quest and vendor items, and I also head to the inn to grab the quests there, as well as picking up everything on the Notice Board. Then I head over to the forge and spend a minute going through every single item i can craft.)
  • After confirming that the save was still good, I headed to Whiterun and spent some time checking out various vendors.
  • Fast traveled to Solitude to check out the Dragonborn Gallery (From Legacy of the Dragonborn)
  • Went horseback riding around a bit killing random bandits. Save still fine.

 

Changes made since last time i encountered the corrupton:

  • Lowered .esp count from 244 to 166 (Mostly merging weapons and armor mods, but also removing lots of small plugins that i really don't need like Spooky Ghosts etc.)
  • Added Nexus Skyrim Overhaul and Legacy of the Dragonborn + Patches
  • Added Amazing Follower Tweaks
  • Removed all follower addons except Mirai and Inigo
  • Swapped from Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Verdant to Veydosebrom and Forests of Dibella
  • Removed Genesis and The Watchtowers Reborn
  • Updated Obis SE and Obis Loot to latest versions
  • Removed Flowergirls and Amorous Adventures
  • Swapped SkyUI 2.2 for Skylight UI (But I highly doubt this had any effect, as I have tried both before and still got corruption)
  • Swapped ELFX + Enhancer for Relighting Skyrim
  • Spent a LOT of time in SSEEdit handling conflicts and overrides for various mods.

In my case the corruption is clearly not related to string count alone, and I would guess it's closer related to the sheer number of plugins installed. Hard to say though, as I have done some major changes since last time I got the false corruption.

 

Sorry I don't have a clear solution for you guys, but I hope you can take something from what I did and make it work for you and your setup.

I'm sitting at 237 currently, and unfortunately haven't had good luck using merged plugins with SE, at this point I'm just getting rid of files without merging. I gave Genesis a trial run and looks like it may just have to go, I got tired of having a bunch of Deathlords spawn sub-level 20, I also had a couple CTDs during the spawning process, so it's gone.

 

Changes made since last time i encountered the corrupton:

  • Lowered .esp count from 244 to 166 (Mostly merging weapons and armor mods, but also removing lots of small plugins that i really don't need like Spooky Ghosts etc.) - Been doing that myself, aside from from the obvious potential false positive for specific plugins, it does seem to help.
  • Added Nexus Skyrim Overhaul and Legacy of the Dragonborn + Patches - What would you say this replaces specifically?
  • Added Amazing Follower Tweaks - Were you using something prior?
  • Removed all follower addons except Mirai and Inigo - Removed my total of 111 followers that I was actually able to merge at one point, and am just making my own now to fit into 1 esp. It's fun, but time consuming, and the lack of racemenu-type support for SE means my orcs and elfs are hideous.
  • Swapped from Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Verdant to Veydosebrom and Forests of Dibella - Just did this and loving it. Support this move. Also saves from having to use Trees HD and Realistic Aspen Trees, freeing up a couple extra ESPs.
  • Removed Genesis and The Watchtowers Reborn - Removed Genesis due to issues stated above. Resisting temptation to see what WtR is.
  • Updated Obis SE and Obis Loot to latest versions - Newest is 2.1.1 and 4.03 for those who's NMM isn't showing updates in program.
  • Removed Flowergirls and Amorous Adventures - Ran AA once for the extra quests. Was excited that it was a "censored" version. Still highly questionable at best. Intriguing, yet highly disturbing. Yeah... no.
  • Swapped SkyUI 2.2 for Skylight UI (But I highly doubt this had any effect, as I have tried both before and still got corruption) - Most of us have no access to this so it's not an option. Highly doubt it does affect anything.
  • Swapped ELFX + Enhancer for Relighting Skyrim - Relighting Skyrim works great when paired with Enhanced Lighting for ENB (even if you don't run ENB) I actually have no real need for ELFX or RLO anymore. Add Darker Nights for flavor. I usually run the second or third from darkest. Mkes night eye, torches, and light spells actually useful.
  • Spent a LOT of time in SSEEdit handling conflicts and overrides for various mods. - Do NOT have the time or patience for doing that right now xD Harvey has me pretty busy with work...

Another thing I can recommend, if you run very crafting heavy armor and weapon addons, disable them for a bit. If I don't have quite as much excess to scroll through while crafting (and notice I never actually do use them anyways) I have longer gaming sessions during play. I noticed after doing that, my time went from basically forcing the bug within 5 minutes to being able to play the game normally and getting 1.5-3 hours. I pretty much only notice it now when a draugr 1 shots me with a shout.

Legendary has some major caveats.

I think it must be a combination of mods or a threshold of some sort. I'm up to ~150 mods now, including crafting and a few script heavy mods without the issue rearing it's ugly head.

 

Genesis has been active for ~8 hours of playtime.

 

I specifically added IA, BookOfUUNP (which has a lot of really stupid armor), NSO and a few cloaks/misc mods that all add a lot of COJs and haven't seen the issue.

 

I'm still quite low on strings and scripts though (34.6k strings, 5569 scripts and 95k script instances).

For me it doesn't really replace anything major, it just provides a lot of content with very few plugins. I was quite surprised that they worked with my (previous) shaky setup at all. I was expecting corruption in under 10 minutes

The main reason I went with very few follower mods is simply because they are the kind of mods most novice mod makers start out with, and thus they are more likely to contain bad scripting etc.

Watchtowers Reborn basically makes all the empty towers along the coast into bandit camps. A standalone mod based on Genesis.

For me it's not about the need or desire to have sex mods in my game, but Flower Girls and Amorous Adventures adds a lot of realism and immersion to the grown-up world of Skyrim. However, the dialogue in AA is so badly written its impossible to do any of the quests without massive cringing. If these were written by someone with experience in doing erotic novels, it would be an amazing mod.

 

 

  • Swapped ELFX + Enhancer for Relighting Skyrim - Relighting Skyrim works great when paired with Enhanced Lighting for ENB (even if you don't run ENB) I actually have no real need for ELFX or RLO anymore. I am running SkyrimSE Re-Engaged ENB Ultimate Preset and it is just perfect. No need to use Darker Nights. I have the night settings set to max in enbeffects.ini and I do require to bring a torch or lanterns when I go spelunking.

One handy feature in Nexus Skyrim Overhaul is that it requires you to have a Gold Bar and/or Silver Bar in your inventory to see all the crafting options. This is in addition to all the ones locked behind quest completion and manuals.
