RaycerX Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 I'm going to be incredibly blunt here: My laptop can't handle skyrim with high textures and shadows. Since all shadows come out as blocks I began to wonder, why not turn off the shadows? Heck, if Borderlands and other games allow shadows to be turned off, why not mod it into skyrim? RitualBlack Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 If you don't want shadows you could always go into your SkyrimPrefs file and change the following things: fShadowDistance=0 fInteriorShadowDistance=0 Setting them both to zero will 'disable' shadows in your game. I tried it with exterior shadows only before posting, but it should be fine for you. I would personally just reduce the shadow map resolution a bit and lower your textures. If you really want high textures and no shadows this will work for you, though shadows make the game more immersive. This is much easier than someone going through the work of creating you an esp without the CS to disable your shadows :laugh: . *edit*I figured if you didn't know about doing this you may not know where the Skyrim user preferences file is.
