Fallout 4 Freezing

So I've been having a LOT of freezing issues with Fallout 4 lately, and it only just started recently in the past week. My game will freeze when I use the UI. Mostly its from the small loot window, but it has happened when I exited out of a crafting menu, only once though. Never with the Pip boy, Never in the transfer screen, and never in workshop mode. The vast majority of my freezing comes from the small loot window. It dose not always happen, I'd say about 5% of the time I loot something from that window it will freeze. However in FO4 you use that window all the time so it turns out once every hour or so my game will freeze. This is starting to make it unplayable, and that is a real shame. I think it might be coming from my mod list, because I've searched the Interwebs' and found no other mention of anyone else having this issue. I thought It was coming from DEF UI, but I have uninstalled but I will still freeze. I am at a loss here, that the only UI mods I have are DEF UI, VIS, Looks menu, Immersive hud, and Better Dials for Power Armor. None of these deal with the Loot window. I will list all of my mods, and my load order if that helps.

 

I have a little over 100 active mods on my game, all from the Nexus save F4SE.

If everything was ok and suddenly started to freeze, then you have to remember what happend or what you did. Because the load order is very long, and even if it wasn't that long, a game doesn't start freezing by magic.

If your game is only freezing when looting, then you should

1) uninstall every mod you use that alters or tweaks the looting system in any way - test your game to see if the freezing has stopped (if it has, then you've narrowed it down to one of those mods and can proceed to 2, otherwise proceed to 4)

2) install the mods one by one that you previously uninstalled in stage 1, and test each one out as after it is installed. This will help you narrow down the culprit (if this doesn't work, proceed to 4)

3) play your game.

4) if prior attempts to fix the problem by testing mods that alter looting fail to fix the problem, then it must be another mod you have installed. This is the painful option, you'll have to uninstall every mod, and then re-install every single one of them one at a time, then test in-game to narrow it down. Alternatively, you could check the mod pages of each mod to see if there is any mention of potential conflicts causing these issues.

Hey OP I'm having the same problem and it's a nightmare to troubleshoot, since it happens so rarely and has no obvious cause.

 

I thought it might be a raider overhaul bug but I just had my game freeze looting a ghoul- as far as I know, none of my mods should even affect ghoul loot drops, so I'm at a complete loss about what is causing this bug.
