Trinkets
Hope this is alright, I made an identical post to this in FO3 Tech Problems, but haven't gotten a solution yet, thinking I may have better luck here?I'll start off by saying that I'm running the game on Windows 10, despite the obvious difficulties that came with doing just that, and I've been through all the common culprits that tend to assist people in this type of situation.Basically, my problem is this. While running a modded game (will post load order below), I can traverse many parts of the wasteland and it's interiors just fine, no problem. However, in certain areas, my game will take a MASSIVE frame drop. Starts lagging immensely, however, it's also rather sporadic as to how intense the lag is.Sometimes I can enter a "lag-zone" and it will just completely bomb, and sometimes even crash.Other times, I can enter the same zone and walk around "fairly" normally, there's still micro-stutters in this scenario though. And other areas, just walking into them, even if my FPS is a solid 60, I'll just immediately crash.I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here? Here's my load order below.I'm using NMM and FO3Edit to sort and manage my mods. 0 0 Fallout3.esm 1 1 Anchorage.esm 2 2 ThePitt.esm 3 3 BrokenSteel.esm 4 4 PointLookout.esm 5 5 Zeta.esm 6 6 Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm 7 7 aHUD.esm 8 8 iHUD.esm 9 9 CALIBR.esm 10 a CRAFT.esm 11 b xCALIBR.esm 12 c FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm 13 d FO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.esp 14 e Mart's Mutant Mod.esm 15 f StreetLights.esm 16 10 DCInteriors_ComboEdition.esm 17 11 Project Beauty.esm 18 12 EVE.esm 19 13 RH_IRONSIGHTS.esm 20 14 Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow.esm 21 15 Alton, IL.esm 22 16 ArefuExpandedByAzar.esm 23 17 AWorldOfPainFO3.esm 24 18 Advanced Recon Tech.esm 25 19 Detect Traps.esm 26 1a ImaginatorFO3.esp 27 1b CINEMATECH.esm 28 1c DarNifiedUIF3.esp 29 1d FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esp 30 1e FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.esp 31 1f FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.esp 32 20 FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.esp 33 21 FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.esp 34 22 FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp 35 23 FO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (automatics only).esp 36 24 xCALIBRammo_FWE.esp 37 25 RH_FWE_Bridge.esp 38 26 UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp 39 27 Fellout-Full.esp 40 28 Fellout-pipboylight.esp 41 29 Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow in Fallout.esp 42 2a Enhanced Weather - REBOOT.esp 43 2b Enhanced Weather - Weather Sounds in Interiors.esp 44 2c Enhanced Weather - Sneak Bonus during Storms.esp 45 2d WeaponModKits.esp 46 2e WeaponModKits - OperationAnchorage.esp 47 2f WeaponModKits - ThePitt.esp 48 30 WeaponModKits - BrokenSteel.esp 49 31 WeaponModKits - PointLookout.esp 50 32 WeaponModKits - Zeta.esp 51 33 WeaponModKits - FWE Master Release.esp 52 34 RH_WMK_Bridge.esp 53 35 Advanced Recon Armor.esp 54 36 Advanced Recon Tech.esp 55 37 Advanced Recon Gear.esp 56 38 Advanced Recon Tech - Detect Traps.esp 57 39 Advanced Recon Range Finder.esp 58 3a Advanced Recon Tech FWE.esp 59 3b Detect Traps - Perk.esp 60 3c Detect Traps - The Traponator 4000.esp 61 3d Detect Traps - DLC.esp 62 3e Realistic Interior Lighting.esp 63 3f Mart's Mutant Mod - DC Interiors.esp 64 40 RH_EVE_Bridge.esp 65 41 Project Beauty- Broken Steel.esp 66 42 Project Beauty- Point Lookout.esp 67 43 Blackened FWE + MMM + EVE + Project Beauty.esp 68 44 Blackened RH + FWE + EVE.esp 69 45 MV02 Sewer Base.esp 70 46 BBBackpacks-v1-1.esp 71 47 ArefuExpandedByAzar-Radio.esp 72 48 AltonAddon.esp 73 49 altonintegratepowerarmorweight.esp 74 4a altonintegratenightvision.esp 75 4b Wasteland Soldier Armor.esp 76 4c Wasteland Stealth Armor.esp 77 4d Dogmeat Leather Armor - CRAFT.esp 78 4e pipboy2500_fo3_edisleado.esp 79 4f GalaxyNewsRadio20[C].esp 80 50 PowerArmorTraining.esp 81 51 CASM.esp 82 52 DYNAVISION - Dynamic Lens Effect.esp 83 53 Directors Chair - Fallout 3.esp 84 54 Trinkets' Merged Patch.esp Oh, also worth mentioning, that my rig should be more than enough to handle this game, as my old PC built in like 2007 was handling the load in the exact same manner.Any suggestions? Deleted21304489User
Welp, the first thing I can tell you... your load order is all jacked up. Just by looking at it, I can tell you're not using BOSS. For example: streetlight mod should be above your broken steel esm file. Meh... I could go on, but if you run BOSS, it will sort most of the main mods you're running, like FWE. Also, if you open up the project beauty optional folder in your data directory, you will see that there is a merged esm for project beauty. That way you don't have to use the 2 esp files for it... which btw, are in the wrong place in your load order. Also, your weather and lighting mods should be at the very bottom of your load order. Most importantly, your blackened patches should be loaded below, and activated after you have created your merged patch. They're not doing what they should above your merged patch. I don't even know how you were able to get your fwe alternate travel esp up there with the esm files, but it needs to be down with the other esp files, like maybe above or below optional tracers. Again, BOSS is your friend. Your xcalibre_FWE esp needs to be at the bottom of your load order, in order for it to keep xcalbre settings from being overwritten. Your biggest issue is load order. If You go to the FWE mod page, they even give you a format for load order. Again, BOSS is your friend. Also, you should really consider reading the info page on each mod you load... that way you don't do things that you shouldn't. I recommend learning how to use FO3Edit to run a conflict report. Learn how to do this and you'll never have to ask anyone about your load order again. That's really all load order is about... conflicts between mods. Your rig has very little to do with FO3's performance. In fact, newer rigs probably have more issues with running such an old game engine. If you're not using it, consider running fallout stutter remover, and using one tweak, to run the game in a fake windowed environment. These two mods will help with stutter. Also, you can use the NVAC dll from Fallout NewVegas. This is help with crashing. Try to keep your mods at around 100 to prevent issues and glitches with the game engine. Load order is the biggest stutter issue running a modded game. A bad load order will create the issues you're obviously having. Again... BOSS is your friend. Edit: After looking at your load order more closely... you may want to consider getting rid of location mods, like Arefu Expanded for instance. Mods like that just cause CTD's in your game. All you have to do is read the comment sections on said mods and you will see posts referring to these types of issues. Interiors are fine, but anything that modifies the exteriors of the game will bring on these types of issues. At least that's been my experience. FYI: my busworld mod is my own tweaked version, made to run with DC-Interiors and metrocars, so don't try and run those 3 together... as the regular versions of busworld and metro cars are not compatible. Finally, after running BOSS... most of these mods are unrecognised by BOSS, so that's why it's important to learn how to run a conflict report using FO3Edit. That way you know where to place each mod in your load order, so conflicts don't happen. If you don't do that... you're just guessing and will never have a 100% stable load order. Plus you may be missing out on what a mod has to offer, by it being overwritten by another mod. Most people never even realise this happening in their game. A general rule to keep in mind... is that the lower mod in the order is going to have the final say. That's how it works. One last thing... and I can't stress it enough. Learn how to clean your mods with FO3Edit. Unless the mod author specifically tells you not to clean a dirty mod.... clean it. Otherwise it will cause CTD's in your game. Mods I don't clean are... FWE, MMM, Blackened, and flora overhaul (forested edition). That's because the mod authors say not to clean them. Everything esle I clean. For instance... your DC-Interior mod is dirty and if you don't clean it... you will get CTD's. Edited December 27, 2016 by ejroberts49

However...sadly, there seems to have been no visual change to the lag/ stuttering despite all of this. And I really mean, NO change whatsoever. I even attempted to disable all mods which made changes to the environment/ exteriors, such as Arefu and Alton, but no dice.Disabling one or the other or both + a few others, made no difference. Also, the texture mod being using (NMC I believe is the name? Popular one), I can go from the lowest setting to the highest and nothing changes at all.Just stutters and lags. I'd already been using Stutter Remover and One Tweak as well.... The main thing that's so depressing is the lack of any change at all, which means I haven't even made a single dent, or empowered the problem in the slightest. At least if the problem got worse in some way I could work with that, but...nothing sadly. Don't suppose you have any other suggestions? No worries if you're at your wit's end.The advice you gave was stellar, regardless, and I really appreciate it :)
Deleted21304489User
Start over. Uninstall everything and begin again. Use only the main mods that you want and drop all others, until you get it figured out. You may have a corrupted saved game file. From what you said above... you can't just disable mods and expect everything to work after. It doesn't work like that. Disabling mods can make things worse, depending on what they do, or are. I don't use Iron Sights myself... couldn't be bothered, as it's hard to patch with other mods. Put that aside and just load up the others for now. That way you're only using one Blackened patch too. If you're new... and I think you are, to modding... then you should start simple and build up. That's the usual problem with most people getting into modding. They are like a kid in a candy store and want it all. Step back and just use the basics first. Activation of mods is really important as well. I'm not talking about load order either. Activating mods in a certain order is crucial. Otherwise you get the wrong overwrites. For instance you should install FWE, then MMM, then EVE, for example. Not any other way. This is why it's important to read the description pages for mods. Check out Benwah's guide on Steam. Read it all: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=149946772 PM me if you want. That way you stop re-posting my load order. Quick question... you are using FOIP for WMK, right?
