Deleted21304489User
Ok, I'm about to start pulling my hair out with this issue. I keep getting head and body mismatch and I've tried just about every suggestion out there, including the bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 setting in the ini file. Deactivating and reactivating archive invalidation. I thought it might have been Project Beauty, but after unistalling that mod... every single male npc in the game has a darker head and lighter body. Putting project beauty back on makes all the male npc head and bodies match, but then my pc and all randomly generated female npc have head and body mismatch. Can anyone please tell me what the issue might be? Anyone. It's weird, because with females it seems to be random. IE: hit or miss. Even doing a new character gen will sometimes result in a head body match, but most of the time, not. With Project Beauty installed my pc usually ends up with a head body match, but the neck is always darker. Looks really STUPID. A literal red-neck look to her. I'm using the type 3 body replacer and running the game through Steam. I've come to the conclusion that it's a problem with the base game, due to the male characters all having darker heads and lighter bodies... as there is nothing modded about them. I'm simply stumped. I'm starting to wonder if this is just the way it is... however, every time I look at a screenshot of females using any type 3 body textures... I don't see this issue, so there has to be something that I'm doing wrong, or something just isn't computing properly. Help please... anyone. :(
Deleted21304489User
Let me just add one side note. I'm using the alternative body textures for MMM, which get rid of the "dirty underwear look". These NPC characters generated by MMM do not have the head and body mismatch at all. Kind of curious, since all other game generated npc's do have the mismatch. I don't get it.
Deleted21304489User
Ok, I don't know what's going on with the bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 fix in the ini file, but this is the culprit. I had it enabled and when I set it to zero... the stupid head body mismatch went away. I initially put this line in my ini file, because the doctor's head in megaton was white... with a black body. After disabling this fix, the head and body mismatch issues went away and the doc's head is still black. My conclusion is that bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 causes more problems that it fixes. I'm guessing when it clears up the white head issue with npc's... it also creates a mismatch between every body and head in the game. Not what I consider a solid fix. The weird thing in the end, is that doc's head is still black after disabling this line. Freakin' Bethesda man. * bangs head on keyboard. I can't believe a fix was the issue. Moving on... This would also explain why the head and bodies do not mismatch with the alternate bodies in MMM, as they are isolated to that mod and not generated by the game itself. That's my guess anyway. From what I read, the bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 is actually an oblivian fix carried over to this game, since Bethesda never addressed the white head bug in this game. On a side note... I feel like i'm talking to myself in this forum. Heh Anyway, maybe this post will help others. Peace out.
