Lachdonin
The producers, or rather one main writer. It was primarily done as a way to incorporate the TES Construction Set editors into the actual universe, rather than just leaving them as a conceptually detached editor. MasterAckrovan
I was pretty annoyed that I didn't get an alternative option to change the outcome of my soul. Not that it plays a role in the game anyway, still would have been nice if you want to role play.
marharth
When looking at the Aedra, NO ONE who worships the Divines goes to an Aedric realm. They get their memories erased, and their souls are essentially stuck in cold storage, before eventually fading in the void. The Daedra, on the other hand, have numerous uses for the souls of mortal followers. Hercine, for instance, uses them in his Hunts, either as hunting beasts or as prey. Sanguine needs people to party with. Azura has some motherly overtones, though Sul indicates shes something of a clingy girlfriend type personality who just doesn't like letting go. Molag Bal needs people to oppress. Etc. The uses a Daedra has for you are all part of the 'terms of service' in following them, and you are required to fulfil that contract by forces beyond even the Daedra. Without a mortal body, however, it seems souls slowly 'bleed out'. Eventually, they collapse altogether and enter the void. When you follow Sithis exclusivly, this colapse seems to happen even faster. But still, do Daedra have the power to control a Aedric soul?
Lachdonin
But still, do Daedra have the power to control a Aedric soul? Again, the powers at work in regards to this are above the Aedra or the Daedra. We know that the Daedra don't have overt control over those who enter their domains anyway. Sul escapes from several Daedric realms, Umbra manages to actually beat Clavicus Vile upside the head, etc. The soul is sent to a Daedra's realm because of some primal flow of power, not nessessarily because the Daedra wishes it. It certianly can benefit them, but they don't really control the dynamic. If anyone controls it, i'd be tempted to say it has to do with Padomay and Anu.
