Lakinshane
After a long struggle with Oblivion crashing, keyboard/mouse freezing, and random minimizing, I was about done with the game. Running a strong computer set up, I still couldn't enjoy the game. I tried every patch, every download I could find online. Anything that has to do with tech support for Oblivion. Nothing worked for the longest time. I figured out the problems finally. Maybe this will help you as well. As far as the keyboard/mouse freezing. I found the fix in this forum. Thanks for posting guys. Here is the link for the fix. http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...506165&st=0 Next, with the random crashing and minimizing....This was a booger to fix. I stumbled upon the fix by chance. I had a virus on my computer. I found it by google'ing a process in my task manager that kept popping up. It was embedded deep in my system. I tried just about every free spy, adware and virus scanner out there. Nothing found it or even recognized it. Namely it was in my internet Explorer browser. A copy cat program of Internet Explorers called Iexplore.exe. Internet Explorer is notorious for allowing back door programs to run on your computer without you even knowing it. As a lot of you know, if you have any program running at all in the background while playing Oblivion, It will cause sudden crashing and/or minimizing. This back door version of Iexplore.exe was causing mine. I never could find out how to remove it. So out of frustration, I downloaded Mozillas firefox browser and deleted Internet Explore. I have not had one single problem since. I couldn't play the game for more than 10 minutes without a crash of some kind. Now it's completely fixed. I hope these will help some of my fellow gamers out there to play Oblivion trouble free. This may not be your problem, but it was certainly mine. It might be an option for those of you who have tried everything in the past like I have.
