Manway Posted December 30, 2016 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I have a short mod I'm working on and I want to create a cave system that opens up into a VERY large room at the end. Not Blackreach big, but still big. I was going to use the Epic size cave pieces, but none of them have floors, just walls with ceilings. Before I start looking at trying to make a cave out of boulders and other random objects, anyone know if I'm over looking any "ready made" cave pieces? Or can anyone give me an example of a really large cave thats in-game? Only one I could remember is Alftand, but thats dwarven, I need a natural cave. Something bigger than the Large Room pieces, but smaller than (and not as blue) as Blackreach. Also, I want to make the large cavern at the end pitch black, but any player lights, like from a torch or magelight, will cover a MUCH larger area than normal. Thanks I took a brief tour of my memory with the assist of the CK and I came up with the following locations for you that may fit your "really large" description, some of these are big, some are long, some are deep, and so on. Perhaps they'll help you out with some inspiration: Broken Oar Grotto, Kagrenzel, Lost Knife Cave, Mzinchaleft Depths, Shriekwind Bastion, Temple of Xrib, Ustengrav Depths For the lighting question, if you want to make player light "light up" a bigger area than normal, a custom lighting effect would be easiest - give the player a long lasting special torch that they can find at the start of your dungeon or dark area perhaps. Manway Posted December 30, 2016 Author Share Posted December 30, 2016 Alright thanks, I took a quick look through them and they answered my question of how other people made large caves and its exactly what I thought, lots of boulders and walls clipping together (I lol'ed when I realized half of Mzinchaleft Depths was made out of the same Mountain peak duplicated over and over again :P) Guess I still have a lot of work ahead of me. Alright, so I need to make a custom spell (makes more sense than a brighter torch,) is there anyway to take a spell away from a player? I could just place a few scrolls, but I'd rather make it seem like the player makes the spell stronger themselves while they're in the large cavern.
