cppcooper
I would like doors, only (if possible), to re-lock after having been unlocked. Ideally only when it makes sense.------------------------------------- I was playing one time and came across a fort and inside there was a mage and three locked cages. There were some wolves on the left. A quest NPC who's life was non essential. Then an empty room. What I did was pull the lever to open the door for the empty room then lured the mage inside and closed the door with the lever expecting it to lock. It didn't so I used the console instead. The idiot quest NPC when I let him out, kept getting agroed by the mage.. and of course he had to fight which is another problem all together, so I won't get into it. ---When I leave my home, I lock the door. If I lift a key off somebody and use it to go into their home and steal all their valuables I of course want to lock the door behind myself when I enter... and leave.---When I am in a large interior and swipe the key of some dumb servant or guard I don't want that same person able to go through into the next area and simply find me.. or worse be able to chase me there.. What if I take their key and they proceed to fail at taking their jewels and gold.. I don't want them or the guards able to follow me through the rest of the place unless they have a key still. JanusForbeare
Locking doors is something that I've never seen well-incorporated into Bethesda mods. "28 Days and a Bit" had a simplified, spell-based version of what you're talking about, but that was designed to delay a pursuer, not to permanently keep anyone in or out. As I see it, there are two possible reasons people might not take a stab at this kind of mod: 1) Because it's sadly impractical to lock doors, as NPCs travelling to or from your location under low-level processing will ignore them. 2) Because it's already so easy to achieve a similar effect with the console. That being said, if someone felt like crafting a 'locksmithing' mod that allowed the player to craft unique keys for various doors, I would wholeheartedly support it, for its RP value if nothing else. cppcooper
yea its a far fetched requestI figure it may be possible to hook the event of the player doing these things. If NPCs could do it too then I would be much happier. To be honest though, I would be happy with a mod that just made the doors lock after 1 minute real time which would ultimately be an easier thing to accomplish.
