First time using console command

(sorry if this is the wrong place to post)

So I tried to finish this quest, but ran into the bug listed there.

But then it says that I can circumvent the bug by using a console command.

I'm pretty new to using console commands at all, so I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong since I can't get the command to work.

The added information to the command was "where [#] is the number of the stage that you wish to set as complete. Becareful however as it is not possible to set the stages as not completed once done."

I tried writing in

setstage FreeformRiften01 1

setstage FreeformRiften01 3

setstage FreeformRiften01 01

setstage FreeformRiften01 03

etc

But I take it that I do something wrong, and since I can't typ in [ ] then I guess that isn't what I'm supposed to write.

Does anyone know exactly what I need to type to do the command and complete the quest?

Small tip: use uesp.net and not elderscrolls.wikia.com.

If the Quest is bugged, then the console might not help you out....but you are doing it right, it was just like with Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3.....setstage/ name of stage/ part of stage
