Recent Console Convert - Skyrim :)

Hi!

 

Played a *lot* of Skyrim but not in a while. I found it under the tree the year it came out. I proceeded to log literally thousands of hours between both consoles over a several year span. Even though I got all the DLC, there are vast portions of the game I've not experienced. Skyrim became my daily vacation I taught myself to intricately hand-decorate my home (if you've ever tried to do so - you know it's hard). Often in a hurry on this side of the screen, I was slow and took the time to really explore. I started an excel book to log quests & locations - even had an alchemy calculator of sorts on one of the tabs. Loved collecting things like books and unique items. Spent insane amounts of time crafting and selling. Spent days in some of the dungeons. Was always a dark-elf, mage, Stormcloak and some light armor. I know, not very lore friendly.

 

On this side of the screen I'm a wife, a mother to an at-home young adult, have a fairy stressful job and a menagerie of pets that I serve (fur, feathers, fins & frogs). My husband plays war games on the consoles. My daughter has minimal interest in any of it. So many nerdy kids out there, mine is not one of them.

 

I got a gaming computer for my birthday (thanks honey!) and found Skryim (Legendary) under the tree again this year. I am so excited! I played enough to know how buggie the game can be and had enviously read about the mods available to the PC community.

 

And here I am. So. Many. Mods. I have no idea where to start. I know I want one of the horse ones. One that makes dogs useful rather than nearly guaranteed to die or get in the way. Fixes for the bugs - like quest hiccups and that housecarl quarters that wont update (in Solitude?). I even saw something about a decorating one.

 

I would sincerely appreciate any pointers or recommendations from folks who know more than I. Things I should know before I start trying to figure this out and specific mods that will enhance my experience.

Bwahahaha! Another convert to the PC Master Race!

 

Well hi. I am Dr. Sir Inquisitor Qwerty Z Eldar. I do not currently have little people in my life but intend to in the future. I converted to the PC Master Race back in 2011.

 

I also have several 'pets' of the fin, equine, furry, overlord of all, feathery kinds. They can be fun... And straight up annoying! They know who they are.

 

Im down for helping you out if you want. Im planning to rebuild my mod list so im starting from scratch. I can live stream for you if you want.

Are you playing Skyrim or Skyrim Special Edition?

 

They're treated as completely different games, so knowing which one you have helps us suggest mods.

 

Oh, and I'd move the topic of mod suggestions to one of the Skyrim threads.

I've started the game over on three different consoles (360, PS3 and PS4). Boy have I been missing out over the years! I just got a siiiiick tricked out rig for Christmas and will be starting anew. I simply HAD to start with DOOM, to test drive this baby (WOW!), and my beloved Skyrim.

 

I'm so excited, but I'm clueless in regards to which mods to use. I've been spending so much time researching and reading mod descriptions that I haven't even logged into the game yet. LoL! Any advice to get me started would be greatly appreciated.
