game freezes and crashes a bit too often

Alright so i've been having quite a bit of fun with the game, but it crashes about at least once every hour, thats if i'm lucky. If i'm not it might crash multiple times within 30 minutes. Also keep in mind when i say crash i also mean freezing. Most of the time the game freezes and the actual crashing to desktop doesn't happen often. However when i'm playing usually when i'm in combat the game will just randomly freeze, but the audio of the game keeps playing. The only way i've found to deal with it is just ctrl+alt+del and then close it with task manager. If it means anything i am playing a conjurer, but i don't really have tons of skeleton summons. Also i'm using TESVedit, MO,and loot. Is there something else i need or anything i can do to stop this from happening so often?

 

Also as a side note, i'm pretty sure immersive armors is the mod that adds facemasks, and while playing i noticed that the face mask completely blocks your screen if your in first person and don't have your weapons/spells ready. Is this some bug or is something else wrong?

Edit: also if your wondering the computer i'm using is probably not the problem as the game itself runs fine and any time i look at my fps it's almost always somewhere between 60-100, and in general the game doesn't lag much it's just the freezing randomly.

It could be due to Vsync issues if you are hitting 60-100 fps. Try to put a limit on it by enabling Vsync in your GPU. Skyrim is a 32 bit game and doesn't play nice when you are hitting high FPS

Just noticed that you have the high res texture pack installed, but without the "unofficial high resolution patch": http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31255/?

 

I'd recommend giving it a try - maybe it can help.

 

On a side note: You have almost all the large mods, that add new lands (Falskaar, Moonpath, Sumerset Isles) in your load order. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but they will put a lot of stress on your memory. Having all these huge mods installed together might make the game more unstable, too.

 

Edit. As for the face masks: IA does indeed add some masks - Trollsbane Mask, the Tribunal Masks etc. At least in my game they seem to work just fine in first person. So I doubt that this is a problem with the original IA.
