Game Crashes after Bethesda Logo, and apparently my DLC isn't "active"

So I decided to start playing Skyrim again recently. Installed a bunch of mods, and booted up my game. The Bethesda logo showed up, and it showed the start of the title screen, with the Skyrim logo but no options or anything to the side. Then it immediately crashes to desktop. No error window or message or sound. Just instant crash.

I went to check LOOT to see if there were any incompatibilities. There were none. However, it says my DLC .esm files are "inactive." I've no clue what this means, as I've never had this issue. The files are installed, but I'm not sure what to do from here. I don't really recall having to do anything specific for Hearthfire, so I'm pretty much lost right now.

Every solution I've found online usually follows 2 basic formulas:

1) "THANKS I solved it" with no explanation as to how.

2) "Just activate it in NMM," followed by "thanks," again, without much explanation

I have no real idea how NMM works or anything of the sort, or if there are any extra steps beyond simply installing the DLC, or what those steps might be, so if somebody could kindly walk me through exactly what it is I am supposed to be doing, that would be most helpful. Hell, I'm not even sure the files are responsible for the game crashing.

P.S.: I have WIndows 10, for all the good that does.
