lukain1701
First let me say I LOVE Skyrim .. But for me it doesn't have nearly enough quest for my characters play style , I started the game wanting to play a Noble Character someone to protect the people of Skyrim from Evil & playing thru the main quest line I felt that character . Even thru the Civil War quests I still felt like a Noble Character doing good , but that's when quests started to dry up "Thieves Guild Questline & The Dark Brotherhood just didn't fit the style of character , How could I justify going for being a Hero to Skyrim to Murdering Old Lady swhile they sleep All thru the main quests line I felt like my character had a path to follow but after that its just a free for all with Murder theft & lying being whats left .. PR4Y
I really can't understand your argument here... there are a few hundred quests in this game. Compare that to similar titles in the genre, and Skyrim simply takes the cake. I think you are expecting a bit too much from the game's main quests. The side quests IMO are not only much more plentiful, but in general more interesting because instead of just being pushed into completing tasks, you actually interact with the story since it's been given to you in a very interactive way. Daedric quests in this game are also VERY fun. Between those and side quests, there are hundreds of hours of content not even including the main quests (thieves, civil war, ect.). Step back and take a look at the game as a whole rather then how quickly you grinded out the main quests... Skyrim really has never been about following a set story, and much more emphasis is placed upon exploring the land and meeting people that will pull you into immersion by giving you varied tasks. Main quests = meh... :\Side Stories + Quests = AMAZING
WastelandAssassin
well, there are only so many quests in the game, and you can't please everybodyafter all, you should have fun, while players who want to go on murdering sprees should have fun alsothe game was built to have a bit of everything, not a lot of something and nothing elsebesides, that's what mods are for, and if you know what you want, why not try and make it so?? (that is, when the creation kit comes out at last) in the end, games that allow you to play a single style of characters are usually only worth playing once (though there are some special cases, i have to admit)and like i said before, there is no specific style of quests in the game, as it should be, being a free world with lots of choicesso all in all, i believe they did good with Skyrim, making it the way it isand if you feel otherwise, like i also said before, you'll soon have the tools to change it, so you'll just need the time, will and vision
scottym23
For the dark brotherhood, when you start the quest and get to the shack part where Astrid wants you to kill one of the 3 captives, you can kill Astrid and start a quest called destroying the dark brotherhood. That's a noble path. For the thieves guild all they do really is steal and that's not really that hard to justify if you don't kill anybody really. There are options in the thieves guild quest line that it's optional to kill some of the people, and when done right you don't need to kill anyone (who's considered good). Joining the companions is honorable and Nord like to the fullest, debatably the most Nord part of the entire game besides joining the Stormcloaks. You can go to the 9 Jarls and do quests for their housecarles and become Thane in the holds. You'll do noble things just as slay dragons and giants for the protection of the cities. This should keep you busy for awhile (and by awhile I mean lots and lots of hours). Then once you're done that collect all of the Daedric artifacts (which is noble because you're taking these harmful artifacts and putting them in your responsible and reliable hands, stopping anyone who has any harmful intent from obtaining them). Then you can clear out all of the forts with bandits in them, and believe it or not there are some mini quests you find from clearing out the bandit forts. Do everything I just said, THEN you can post a new topic about not having enough quests to do. But by then they'll probably be many mods out to add new content, and i'll probably have thought of new heroic things to do in the game.
whiteshaix
On my 3rd character I went to Falkreath at the start instead of Riverwood, had a lot to do for about 12 levels just helping the locals. If you walk instead of fast traveling, a lot of new quests will find you. Literally.
Pentigan
One of the Daedric quests is also rather Noble. You have to get a random drop from quests to start it though.
tazmo
I got the walkthrough book from the missus for christmas and i can honestly say that there are hundreds of quests. It is truly magnificent the amount that they have squeezed in, from very short `deliver this note / package' to long `multiple destination / character interaction'So personally, I am more than happy with the quest content. I have restarted my character, not done the thieves / companion / dark brotherhood quests yet or gone beyound meeting the greybeards for the first time and already at about level 35+ with some of my perks up near the hundred already, so no complaint from me...!!! BigRedNole
There are 100s of quests. I like playing a Paladin type character. However, it is hard to stay down one path in this game. Because there are so many quests, it is easy to stray. Also, gold become a concern for me so I had to do the Dark Brotherhood quests to get access to those coffers. Personally, I do not like static/linear games. I like the dynamics Skyrim offers. However, you will quickly revert to fast travel to keep from running EVERYWHERE. On my first run through still, I know what I dislike and what I want for the next one. One thing I wish existed was an alignment meter. It would let you know how any given quest would affect your alignment by proceeding and allow you to dump the quest if it is not within your alignment goals. My next run will be with an assassin. Max Smithing, Enchanting, and Alchemy first.
Lachdonin
If you want to stay on the straight and narrow, you have to pick and choose your quests. Your not going to want to do Molag Bal's quest, for instance. Azura's would be fine mind you. Skyrim has more quests than you can shake an over-populated mass producer of cheap goods at. Some are hard to find. Others stare you in the face. If you talk to everyone, you'll find quests to your liking. You'll also find quests which make you want to stab children. Of course, if you want to stay on a particular moral path, your Journal's going to get insanely full. I agree with the idea that, if you decline a quest it gets put in your journal anyway. Its so you know who to go back to if you change your mind. But i'l like a way to mark them as inactive. Sometimes, trying to cut down on menues only makes things worse. werty2121
I agree with lukain1701 Yes I love Skyrim. Yes, you guys are right, there are hundreds of quests, and that is amazing in itself. But I agree about playing the noble character. If you never do the thieves guild or the dark brotherhood or several other sinister quests, you are missing out on some REALLY cool stuff (and missing out on some 200 quests right there). But to do those quests, you have to lie, steal, cheat, murder, and murder the innocent and helpless. That's totally out of character for my current noble, stud, Sir Knight. Imagine playing a Blackbeard, Pirate of the Seven Seas game, where your character, Blackbeard, was allowed to pillage, only if his chores were done first; and his chores included doing the dishes, and emptying the bed pan of his step-mom, whose basement he lived in. Noble, but so out of character it blows the fantasy of a pirate.
