Mod for Oblivion perks?

Hi guys, Ive played a lot of heavy modded oblivion in the past few years, and now Ive been playing (slightly) modded Skyrim. Thing is, since Skyrim will still receive a looooooot of new mods from the time when CK comes, it will take a bit more time for it to reach a point in which its fully modded and reaches the summit of EPIC GAME we are all aiming for. So I want to take up Oblivion for a bit, until this builds up for a while; thing is,after skyrim, I feel i need something more at leveling (Skyrim's perks) other than just higher stats (Oblivion Realistic Leveling), and Oblivion's perks just wont cut it.

Does anyone know about something really good for this maybe like a mod that adds new perks to Oblivion or gives the existent ones some depth of choice or something like that? Would really appreciate it. Something that isnt gamebreaking like godlike powers, maybe something a little bit balanced. Thanks in Advance.

I think Skyrim's perk system is uber unrealistic. Lets say I explore a couple of dungeons and spend all my time swinging a 1-handed weapon. I increase my stat in that skill 10 times. I can now level up. So I go and choose the alchemy perk.

Tell me what is wrong with this picture. Shouldn't I have to take a 1-handed weapon perk instead of an alchemy perk? My character is a brute with a sword. Why is he suddenly so good at alchemy?

In Oblivion, it was more rational. I could not get the alchemy perks until I practiced alchemy so much that I reached the numbers 25, 50, 75, and 100 in that skill.

I don't think I would have any problem with this mod idea if it were to add more interesting and powerful perks, but if it only allowed you to select them if you had been advancing in that skill. Maybe what Skyrim needs to do is raise all the perk requirements to like 30 or higher so that my warrior in the example would not qualify for any alchemy perks until he had spent some time practicing.

Thats true.. at the beginning of the game, but further in I dont think you can just take whatever you want, theres skill requirements you need to achieve, and taking your example -alchemy, isnt one of those you can just make 10 potions, level one handed like a maniac and take alchemy perks - it takes time. Still, what im looking for is something like that, balanced and following character skill progress but still having some type of depth in choice. Anyone knows a mod?

Hi,

Oblivion does not have a real Perk system like Fallout for example. As David already pointed out, you will get certain bonuses when reaching a certain level in a skill.

Therefore no Perk Mods I'm afraid, but here might be a solution for you: Have a look at Oblivion XP, this should change the leveling system to your liking.

Happy modding
