Sublime89
So I built a new PC, and had to re-load windows on it. I have two HD's, and was going to put all the files from the old HD on to the new one. But I accidently did a clean install of windows on my old HD... therefore erasing skyrim and all saves I had. My character was around level 22, was on the thieves guild quest right (Stop reading here if you havnt done theives guild quests and dont want a spoiler) after you kill the leader, and have to go return the skeleton key. I know there is no way to get my saved games back. But is there mods out there or a way to set my new character to a certain progess in the quest line so I can be back where I was? Also is there a mod out there where I can put my characters skills roughly back to where I had them at?
Lutine
Actually you can get your saves back by using deletion and format recovery programs, but it's a long and arduous process.
Sublime89
I downloaded one, and am searching my hard drive for the saves, but I don't remember what those files were named. Do you know how the standard save files are named?
Lutine
This is the general template:Save X - NAME LOCATION 00.00.00.ess Here's an example of one of my saves: Save 25 - Lake Bleak Falls Temple 05.48.31.ess
Sublime89
What about autosaves? If I were to search my HD for the word "autosave", I wonder if it would find anything. These searches take a while. Last save I can remember I was in riverwood, but it found nothing for that word.
Lutine
Here's what my My Games\Skyrim\Saves folder says: autosave1.essautosave1.ess.bakautosave2.essautosave2.ess.bakautosave3.essautosave3.ess.bakquicksave.essquicksave.ess.bak Try searching for those. Sublime89
I appreciate your help, but I just realized that even if it does find my saves... it cost $50-70 dollars depending on what program to recover them! Not worth it in my opinion for a skyrim save... lol. Is there anyway to skip forward in the theives guild quest line. Don't want to do them all over but I want to see how the quest line ends... and still have my nightingale armor.

You can look up the code for all the quests in the thieves guild and skip it that way. You can get nightingale armor that way too.

Thanks, where is a place that would have the proper commands / quest ID's to do this?
