Forced "Low" Textures

I'm starting to get pissed at this game, this is the 4th time it's completely wrecked itself. I was playing merrily and at a loading screen it was taking longer than usual (past a minute moving into a shop), then I got this weird "virtual memory" popup error and CTD. Now whenever I boot up the game (even to the main menu), all the textures are loaded as if they've been set to low. So I rebooted, logged into my admin account, killed all my startup programs and whatnot, deleted the INIs, and disabled all my mods through MO; at this point it's essentially a Vanilla copy of the game. I let the launcher auto-detect me to Ultra, ran the game, but I'm still having the same issue. Any ideas?

Core i5 2500k @ 3.6Ghz

8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600Mhz

AMD Radeon 6870 DirectCU @ 950/1150Mhz

EDIT: Apparently Skyrim didn't just kill itself, it took all my games with it. Battlefield 3, Guild Wars, Batman, and Metro 2033 all have the same issue.

Have you tried validating files in Steam? Also, don't suppose you remember the full Virtual memory error? Might want to check your swap file settings and make sure there's enough headroom.

Yes, I did try validating them, but then I found out it happened in all of my other games as well, so I used DriverSweeper and rolled back from the 12.1a Preview drivers to the official 11.12 drivers, and that seems to have fixed it. I wish I did remember the error code, but I was too stupid to screencap it. With 8GB of RAM the Virtual Memory page says I have 8175MB allocated, is that enough?
