Deleted2770933User
Hi guys, I am very interested in editing the minimap and world map surfaces (mostly, I would like to desaturate the geography surfaces and generally enhance their appearance) BUT...I can't seem to locate these textures anywhere in the Uncooked data? Could someone point me in the right direction please?
irritant4
I found some of the map tiles in one of the texture.cache files. when I tried to put them back together they were horribly incomplete. Some of the other zoom levels were mixed in making it a showstopper for me. There has to be a better way.
Terg500
Well I've found out that the files appear in gameplay\gui_new\maps and gameplay\gui_new\minimaps, but for whatever reason I can't get them extracted no matter what I do. ModKitchen, W3Oven... dds, tga, jpg... nothing works that extracts EVERY file, so my gui_new folder always appears with only the "gwint" folder and "fonts.xml" file. What is going on? KoalaNalle
Use WolvenKit to extract the files you need lets say: Root\TextureCache\gameplay\gui_new\minimaps\island_of_mist There are files and all are named like tilexxxx.jpgrename that to .dds And you can view them. I suspect that you could import them back, by just renaming the dds to jpg. and pack with texture.cache Edited December 10, 2018 by KoalaNalle
Terg500
Thanks, WolvenKit worked perfectly, extracted all the texture files I wanted without problems, I'm even being able to view the textures without renaming their format extension. So the problem was that I tried to extract the texture caches directly with the ModKit wcc_lite.exe, but they never showed up.
