keithbk
I don't know if this bothers anyone else, but something needs to be done with basic AI of the Stormcloaks and the Imperials in how they handle battle as groups. The imperials should reflect the mentality of training and group organization. Archers should take positions, some men should hold positions (guarding doors and entryways, for example), and others should rush into battle while holding some sort of formation. Meanwhile, the Stormcloaks should act more like berzerkers in battle, rushing headlong with little regards to what their countrymen are doing. They should have a rage bump and be deadly in one-on-one confrontations. One of the things that bothers me about the "Civil War" content is that NOTHING reflects this, and the "mass battles" are just spawns of low-level troops with no meat. I would much rather have something distinct between the two sides as that would totally change how you relate to each side in battle. What does everyone else think? keithbk
One other thought regarding Imperials... Imperials should take actions in response to a commanding officer. Typically, in battle, the formations would be handled by a commanding officer who would order positions to be taken and instructions would be carried out through horn blasts. Troops would retain formations and follow instructions as long as the commands kept coming from a commanding officer. This would make taking out a commanding officer a part of strategy, as the troops could fall into disarray eventually without instructions.
