DynasuarezWrecks Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Just a question of general curiosity. Wrye Bash can merge some plugins into the bashed patch itself. I've encountered many mods whose instructions call for leaving a plugin installed but disabled after it has been bashed. Why? They can't still be doing something that the bashed patch isn't doing now, can they? I realize that if the plugin references something in a data folder, like a mesh or a texture, then uninstalling the mod entirely will remove the referenced file, but deleting just the .esp should be safe, right?
DrakeTheDragon Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Well, you should keep in mind you will "regularly" need to recompile your bashed patch, at least every time another plugin gets added or removed, or even only the position of one inside your load order changes at one point. The bashed patch will always have to reflect that now-new load order exactly, or certain changes coming from it will not get into your game. And I think it's needles to say you won't be able to recompile your bashed patch "and" keep the plugins' records you completely merged into it last time, as soon as the source plugins for repeated merging now are no longer present.
DynasuarezWrecks Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 Of course. So basically I'm a dumbass. I hadn't even considered that. Skyrim doesn't need the plugin anymore, but I might need it later. Thanks.
DrakeTheDragon Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Don't call it dumbass. Everybody misses out on some rather obvious facts at some times, it's happening to me too at times. You're welcome.

In the long run, it will do something subconciously....at least, the evidence suggests that the likelihood is extremely high. (I study psychology, and have done this to myself)
DynasuarezWrecks Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 lol I was just being hyperbolic. Relax u gaiz. I appreciate your concern, though.
NerevarII Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Lol I figured, but, I also figured better safe than sorry, especially with all the negativity going on in this forsaken world
DrakeTheDragon Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Well, I know of way too many members who weren't joking when they said it, and these too were wrong of course. I have a bad habit of rectifying mistakes whenever I see them. For a little perspective, my mother does this all the time when I'm with her: Her: "My, where did I put my handy? Have you seen it?"Me: "Yes, it's lying right there on your phone desk where you put it after the last call."Her: "Oh! Yes, you're right. Man, I'm dumb!"Me: "No, just forgetful." Me: "Didn't you want to go to the grocery store this afternoon?"Her: "Yes! Oh, damn, I totally missed that. Man, I'm dumb!"Me: "No, just muddle-headed(sp)." etc... Calling yourself dumb or stupid or worse for just a minor mistake doesn't do yourself justice and is bad for your self-confidence. Not too long and you'll start actually believing it.So I must admit I'm a little bit nitpicking when it comes to this at times. ...And now I'm just off-topic babbling as well.
