Was an ebony battleaxe (legendary) until I found this mod:

I'm really digging the Dynamis III claymore at the moment. It's a suitable upgrade, both damage dealing and aesthetic-wise.

Edit: Oh, and a legendary ebony bow with ebony arrows. Should have mentioned it first, since it sees the most use. Cheers.

On my assassin, Mehrunez Razor. Offhand stays empty, used to help balance my character during silent rolling into backstabs (15x sneak plus double dmg gloves... epic.)

On my sword + board I have a few different swords. Dragonbane when fighting dragons (base dmg 179 plus 30 shock)... Nightingale Blade (167 base) when fighting living creatures (30 stamina / health drain... awesome enchant)... and if I'm fighting anything undead (Draugr's or Skeletons ect.) I have a Legendary Daedric Sword that's dual enchanted with Paralyze and Fire Dmg (reason for this is usually Draugr fight in packs and paralyze is very useful for crowd control).

I'll be making a 2h character soon enough, and I plan to use Wuuthrand for the first 20-30 levels or so. We'll see where it takes me from there!

Mainly a Dragonbone Bow(Legendary) enchanted to do 15Fire+15Lightning & using Dragonbone arrows. For upclose & personnal Glass Dagger(Legendary) enchanted with Soultrap.

Edit: and a Dragonbone Katana for few occasions when the "waste hits the rotating turbine"

Dual wielding n Daedric Sword (Legendary) in right hand and a Daedric Dagger (Legendary) in left hand. With several plus 40% one-hand damage enchanted items, they eventually had 200 and 150 damage. So any enchantment becomes puny against that and just an encumbering to need to refill, and elemental fury not working anymore. which was quite a sudden death to almost anything in the game, if not in cool down.

I used a dagger for the left hand, because:

* two identical swords made the favorite menu funky,

* I had a dagger right in the hand for assassin moves.

* it made a role-play. As far I know there aren't any or at least not much real fighters who used two long-swords. Since it doesn't quite work out. But Samurai used the Katana in the right (or left for left-handed) and the Wakizashi in the offhand. I think the quite shorter Wakizashi was also used rather defensive and for tricky attacks. Two long swords would just be trouble, since they would get in the way of each other.

LOL there is no dragonbone bow... or dragonbone arrows... are you using a mod or do you really just not know what you are talking about?

If you want to have the fighting style in Skyrim match the real-world, there will be a lot of tweaks necessary. For example, despite the "Akavira Katana" being a 1-handed sword, in real life all Samurai swords (Tanto, Wakazushi, Dai-wakazushi, Katana, Dai-katana, etc) were exclusively 2-handed weapons. No Samurai dual-wielded anything, and, if you want to think of the real world, very few fighting styles ever called for it. There is one Spanish fencing style that calls for a rapier and a dagger; the only example I can think of.
