stormyverve2583
lever action, single, caravan, sawn-off, riot, and hunting shotguns use either 20ga or 12ga. wouldnt it be easier to just carry one ammo type, or maybe swap ammo types when you have time and a place to do so? also, an optional ttw patch to change the combat and double barrel shotguns from fallout 3 would be nice. maybe a workbench rechamber-style mod that doesnt take any materials except the weapon, like it just changes the ammo flag(and adds a note to the end of the weapon name for the shell type it currently uses?) to either 20ga or 12ga at the workbench? thank you for taking the time to read this. devinpatterson
lever action, single, caravan, sawn-off, riot, and hunting shotguns use either 20ga or 12ga. wouldnt it be easier to just carry one ammo type, or maybe swap ammo types when you have time and a place to do so? It's your (fallout) world and I wouldn't want to knock your vision of it, but I don't think it would be a very popular mod for most other players. maybe a workbench rechamber-style mod that doesnt take any materials except the weapon, like it just changes the ammo flag(and adds a note to the end of the weapon name for the shell type it currently uses?) to either 20ga or 12ga at the workbench? Reboring is an interesting idea, and it's a shame that changing the ammo isn't a vanilla mod effect. But yeah you could do it via recipes or a fancy weapon bench code block in the script. Recipes would be pretty easy to set up, since it's just something like the original weapon and some filler items (I'm not sure what would be the closest misc game item for the process though). Another option might be to have a machine in H&H tools factory (or somewhere else appropriate) that can do a rebore. The script could check for appropriate items (a form list of firearms) in the player container (ie you) and offer options to rebore the base id's that match. Or make the h&h tools machine a container and when you place the appropriate weapon type in the machine(container) it is converted to the next bore size up. All of those methods listed above are really doing the same thing which is creating a new base form of a weapon with larger cal ammo. Changing the ammo flag (via the nvse function) is out because it would change it for everybody/all items. I'm not a scripter so I'm not sure I'd be the best person to tackle the scripted solutions (and I'm already backlogged with requests), but I can put some recipes together for you for a few weapons real quick, if you'd like. SGTbayk47
I could try to implement a system the same as Fallout 3, where all shotguns use a generic 'Shotgun Shell' ammo type, if that's what you're after.
