Randomly started crashing

So i realize i have a lot of mods. Skyrim was working perfectly fine the past 2 days, Then while I was doing the dark brotherhood questline on my newest save, my pc would just power off then restart. However i think that is because my plug was a little loose because when i slightly moved my computer, it came out. So fixed that. But now when I launch sse, The loading screen for when i hit continue is just the skyrim emblem. Now i have had this issue before. Last time it was a mod order issue. however I havent made any changes to the mods since i last played.

 

 

I've never posted on a forum before. generally i just google my way to success. but i am truly stumped. Maybe there is something im missing???

Specs: (its an old computer but still works pretty well. i think) again ive never done this before and my dad is the computer guy i my house, though i am getting there, so i'll just copy pasta my specs.

Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU 950 @3.07GHz 3.07 GHz

RAM: 12.gb (actually having an issue with my ram. i have 36(? i think.) installed but it only detects 12

Graphics Card: Im not entirely sure. It says Radeon RX 480 Graphics and the card itself says sapphire on it. I just know my game automatically sets to ultra, and i can run pretty much every game i play on ultra

I also have an ENB installed.

It might not be any problem with the mods. That power off, could could have caused a game corruption. Maybe you need to reinstall it?

 

As for the total amount of RAM? What motherboard do you have? If you do not know? Download this hardware info tool:

It might be that your mobo do not support a very high amount of RAM as you say it's an older one. But 12gb as a max amount seem strange to me though. 16 gb would have been more likely then. It could also be that one of the memory sticks are'nt seated correctly in it's slot eventually?

In addition to that, if I'm correct your cpu only supports up to 24GB of RAM, might be wrong, but it could make some ram sticks useless.

 

Edit: Regarding the startup freeze. If you haven't changed any mods in between like you said, it's most likely something with the game itself. Have you tried resetting the .ini files? (just deleting them and then setting them up new) Helped me sometimes.

Otherwise reinstalling the game and mods might be the way (or testing complete vanilla state).

 

Do you also tried launching it without enb? Sometimes something with that can go wrong ... don't ask me why, had it too many times.

You can copy your enb files into a backup folder somewhere before you reset everything. enblocal.ini, enbseries.ini, enbseries (folder) and both .dll. Maybe also reshade files (don't know exactly which your enb uses)

That would be the safest way.

But when reinstalling just via steam, these files shouldn't even be deleted by steam itself. (At least I think so ... )

To start without enb simply move the d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll out of your skyrim main directory. Personally I create always create a folder inside Skyrim directory for things like this.

 

Deleting the ini files itself would be one way. Then starting the launcher to set them up again and also after that adding the necessary edits (for things like enb).

That motherboard support max 24 gb of RAM says the specifcation at Asus home. So it might be that you need to change some setting for the amount of RAM from inside the motherboard BIOS?

So i tried ressetting the ini and running without enb and it still doesnt work :c im just gonna reinstall. i'll let you guys know what happens after i reinstall1
