SpellAndShield
or are they topped out by higher class weapons even against undead?
thesapien
Good question. Aren't there a couple of things that just say "more" something without saying how much? It's like someone forgot to go back and fill in these placeholders.
FordPerfect
From what I can see in SkyEdit those are just descriptions put on the weapon. There are enchantments for silver swords but they don't seem to be attached to them unless they're handled differently from other weapon enchantment types and SkyEdit lacks the functionality to show it. Same thing for Wuuthrad.
bpestilence
Actually it has been shown that Silver Weapons do 2.2x damage to undead, and Wuuthrad, similarly, does 1.2x damage to Elves. Neither is an enchantment that can be learned. Silver swords can be further enchanted but you will never see the enchantment in the effects. Silver swords cannot be improved on grindstones, so they are quickly outmatched by any legendary sword, or even a mildly upgraded Daedric sword. The funny thing is that silver swords do no additional damage to werewolves.
scottym23
Yeah silver weapons due quite a bit more damage to undead, but even still that doesn't make up for the lack of damage the silver weapons due in general. Using an ebony, glass, or daedric weapon definitely out damages the silver weapons. Maybe even Dwarven weapons do too, but with the silver weapons upgraded they probably out damage Dwarven as far as undead are concerned.
teklanika
I use a Silver Greatsword for killing undead, upgraded to Flawless. Just pick up Art of the Blacksmith, a mod on The Nexus. You can upgrade all items that were previously missing from Vanilla Skyrim. Horned Scale Armor, Silver swords, Skyforge Steel Daggers, etc etc. There are quite a few missing recipes and this mod aims to fix them all. (I think it already has)
