How to make an execution scene?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm trying to make an execution scene, but I am at a loss. I know that the chopping block is equipped with a script that aligns the actors' animations, but I have no idea about how to make use of it, and looking at existing executions have not been of much help. I can't find anything on the web nor execution scenes in the Creation Kit. The respective actors don't provide much help either.

Is there a generous soul out there who knows how to do this? Or tell where the execution scenes are hiding? If I could find the scenes it would be easier to figure out.

Thanks in advance

EDIT:

Forget it, I figured it out.

You get the chopping block placed and put the necessary actors around it. Don't link them, it's done through the scene editor.

Then you create a quest with the execution scene in it. An example is the "SolitudeOpening" quest (the one with Roggvir). Just duplicate it and edit out the unnecessary bits, of course remembering to edit the small details ensuring it points to the right things. Also, remember to put the right keywords on the actors participating in the scene (look at the actors in the Roggvir execution to find what you need).

I got this working a long time ago but gave it up.

You need to take a look at the execution quest/scene that happens in Solitude when you first arrive there. To find this quest, just right click, I think Captain Aldis, look up Use Info, and check the quests he is used in. Or look up Ragvir.

This will not be easy. There is a specific way it needs to be set up, all of which I barely remember, but you will need to work with scene timers. I mean copy/pasting how Beth did it, doesn't exactly work as intended.

First you need to setup the executioner, it doesn't need to be setup exactly as beth has it(keyword on the actor form) you could instead fill an alias that has the keyword if you want.

There is only one chopping block in the game that works, IIRC, and that's the one from Solitude, so use that form.

Also, executions can be done anywhere, and you can even add a "line" of NPCs all waiting their turn, etc. Executions open up a variety of possibilities for modding.

Possible bugs(all I have encountered)

-All three actors do nothing. (The officer, the executioner, the victim)

-The officer and the Executioner move into position and the victim doesn't.

-The victim moves into the position, head lops off, yet the officer and execution do nothing.

-The officer moves to the victim, begins the animation to push the victim down, but abruptly stops, the victim drops down anyway, the executioner does his thing. (this one happened to me a lot and was a pain to fix)
