ENB Insanity!

Hello, all.

As anyone whose been to skyrimnexus' homepage can see, there's usually a cornucopia of ENB mods listed, and every day a new one -or several- pops up. My computer is in dire need of an upgrade, but after the Christmas season, I can't really indulge like I would want to, so I'm stuck with using visual/performance tweaks & mods to compensate for my hardware's shortcomings.

Here are my specs:

Windows XP Service Pack 3

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512 MB GDDR3 Graphics Card

AMD Phenom X4 9650 Quad Core

3 gb RAM

I don't know the history of ENBs, what they actually do, where to start researching or which one I can use (or if I can even use one, to be honest), so any help at all is appreciated.

Also, if I posted this in the wrong forum, I apologize in advance.

Try ENB brasilian if you absolutely have to have one of these ENB mods. After just a bit of tweaking it looks breathtaking, and the performance hit is small compared to most of the others. My card is listed in my signature, and I run it at 45 fps (average, it ranges from 32-59 that I've seen). For a point of reference, I run it with Ambient Occlusion enforced through my video card, and indirect lighting enabled, on high settings at 1440x900 resolution.

If I tried to make the default ENBseries 1.02 look close to that good, I'd be getting 20-25 fps (and very stuttery) instead of 45.

What they do is add a lot of lighting effects and dynamic things to make the game look much prettier. OH! I almost forgot; I also use this mod to complement my ENB:

This one has no performance hit and makes the game look quite a bit better. It's also compatible with the ENB mods.
