cruddas
It seems i'm doing something wrong that i have not figured out yet, but out of all the mods i extract to my data files (WITH 7z.) i just cannot get certain armors to work properly ingame, a list of mods i'm not able to get to work are... Exnem's black luster armor. Brivas assassin clothes. Exnem's assassin armor. Hiyoko store by pizz. (i got the animal clearks and store to appear, but they do not have a button to buy/sell anything when i speak with them.) Nico's dreadweave armor. (went to location shown in hints and there was no ruins, not sure if the armor will work since no ruins to explore means i can't test the armor to see if it works properly.) Pizz_FFXI white mage outfit. I checked and double checked, then triple and quadruple checked all files and folders carefully to make sure all .nif were in meshes and all .dds were in textures, and the armor mods still are not working properly for me. Oh yes, i also have Oblivion mod manager and that's a bit over my head right now so i don't rely on it. (I would ask that people stop typing shorthand since it can easily confuse less computer savvy people, meaning don't just type crap like OOO, MMM, or OBMM and other such things, i spent all weekend trying to figure all of that out.) wizardmirth
OBMM makes installing and managing mods easier once you get past the initial learning stage. I would recommend you spend time learning how to install mods both manually and with OBMM and see which one you prefer. OBMM has features which can help you find conflicts between mods before you even install them and even check conflicts for installed mods as well. Blu02
Hey, Briva's Assassin Clothes is my old mod :) I'll try to help, but I need to know more about how it's failing. I'll make you a check-list in case I dont find my way back here; -The armor is supposed to be found in two chests under the Imperial Bridge, in the water just by the column nearest the fishermans house. If the chests arent visible, you probably havent activated the ESP-file that is included with the mod. "Brivas Assassin Clothes.ESP" must be put in your Oblivion\Data folder and be activated in your "Data Files"-menu when starting Oblivion. The two chests are nothing custom, so even if you have misplaced any of my meshes or textures, they should appear, assuming that the ESP-file is working correctly. Another possible reason for this might be that the mod is conflicting with another mod that changes that same area of Tamriel. Use the program "Mod Conflict Detector" found here to see for any conflicts. If any mods turns out red, they are seriously conflicting, and you might have to shut down one of them in order to make the other one work properly. -If the armor appears invisible or purple when you're wearing it, you have not placed the textures correctly. You say you have checked this point over and over, so I doubt this is the problem, unless you've placed the texture-folder in your Oblivion-directory, and not in your Oblivion\Data directory (Yes, a lot of people asking me for help have managed to do this, so I thought I'd might make sure this isnt the case here :P ) -If the armor isnt showing, but instead a big triangle or something, you have misplaced the meshes. Check this problem as you checked the texture-folder. Works the same. Now, personally, I'd recommend you to extract any new mod in an empty folder first, just checking to see that it will extract into the correct folders, cause this might not always be the case. Personally, I even put the files into the correct folders manually, just to make sure they get right from the beginning and so I dont get any unnecessary crap in my Data-folder :) And I dont use any mod installing programs, so I cant guarantee that any of my mods will work with these programs. Install manually to be sure. Good luck.
cruddas
I managed to fix nearly all of these mods with manual placement of the files, for some reason 7z. was just putting the whole package into my data file and not seperating them, so i got rid of that, thank you all for the willingness to offer help, i do appreciate it. I recommend 'Current Pathnames'(when you open it with 7-zip) for most cases.
