Loot menu lags

Hey, a while back I installed a whole slew of mods at the same time, and had no problems with it. But now whenever I open a chest, loot a corpse, or go through a sack, there's a 6 second pause every time before I can see the items. Im wondering if anyone knows of a conflict between some mods that causes this or have had this problem themselves. Couldn't find anything through search either.

The mods I have installed are:

1.2 patch

OBSE

Natural environment, weather, effects

Thieves Aresenal

Deadly Reflex

Loot weight mod

Alive Waters with Koi

Attack and Hide

Horse Combat

Marksman Velocity

No more annoying messages

No psychic guards

NPC Static Level

Potion Sorter

Short Grass

Skooma Pipes

Visually realistic deadly lava

This probably isn't related to any mod exactly, but rather how you play the game. How many items do you have in your inventory? Having too many items usually ends up causing a delay in the time it takes to open up anything. The easiest way to find out if this is the case is to stash most of your current inventory in a safe container (inside a house you own) and then see if it is any faster. If so, you might want to try carrying fewer items and only taking things which you can sell for alot, or are useful.

Vagrant, from your experience, could storing rarely used items and loot to be sold into a loot bag / portable sack help ?

Would the game see it as only one item, or would it continue to see it like a bunch of items, thus causing slowdowns ?

I'm just wondering, because I've experienced that the excellent Keychain mod, when used in "Manual (on keychain)" helps a bit.

Things stored in containers which are not being accessed won't be loaded, if that's what you're asking. Since those kinds of mods just have the player accessing an external container (scripted to an inventory item) only the item in your inventory is included. The downside to those mods is really only that items in those containers don't count as being on the player, and in most cases, you're limited to 1 actual container per unique inventory item, which can often end up with you with having several such container mods, and an inventory filled with such containers. And then there's the process of managing it all, or accidentally misplacing the container item. Small price to pay though if you happen to be a packrat.

Vagrant,

Your advise is helpful. I only have one of such containers mod, that is Portable Sack from Portable Campsite (very good mood BTW, especially for RP). Normally I don't use it very much, except for items I want to leave separated from the rest, eg: empty Grand sized soul gems, to avoid accidentally filling them with a petty soul.

From what you are saying, it could be helpful putting loot and junk inside so to have only the container in my inventory and thus decreasing inventory opening time. Also, with only 1 container, I would have nothing to manage, and the only downside would be to occasionally open it when I need an item.

Thank you !
