Me and a friend were originally going to tinker with a mod like this and really take our time, but I had a look at the mod requests and it had been requested so I posted saying we were doing it we then got a fair amount of support so its defiantly going to happen or at least get somewhere. To see any Ideas we've already had or advice that has been given please check out the original page:

This is a great idea and can be very fun if done right. There are so many books, so much material to use for dialogue and NPC creation. I think starting with UU is the best way to start.

Maybe the mages were doing an experiment. They were trying to find a way to open a inter-dimensional door from the lab to the kitchen so they could get snacks without walking all the way there. The pie gets cold on the way. Can't have that. They opened the door, it wasn't to the kitchen but another dimension and it started spreading and swallowing UU. They have tried to close it but but they can't so they decide they need to get some help from somewhere else to stop the rift. They need to get it stopped before it starts to swallow the city and someone outside UU notices. It would make the Wizards look bad if that happened. Can't have than. Ruin the university's reputation of excellence and all that.

They open a smaller hole to call for help. It's the player that hears it. (this can happen anywhere in Skyrim, where ever the player is. But I'm not sure how you could make that work) "Anyone there?" The player sees a mouth talking in the air. Then a eye looking at them. " Um hello you there. We need your assistance for a small matter." Then another voice says "Yes a small matter, Nothing of too great importance."

Maybe its a Oblivion gate they opened and now it has to be closed. Maybe daedra are coming through. Clanfear, scamps and those alagator things (what were those things called?)

Once you save the UU they teach you how to call the gate to go to the UU. Later the rest of the city can be added. Then the player can explore outside the UU.

I've read all the books and loved them. It's been a while though. If you can pull this off it will be fun. I'll be watching this post.

P.S. Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler is my Fav. Gata love some questionable meat sausages. It's a surprise in every bite.

I'd absolutely LOVE to see it, but it would take a ton of work. I'd wager it to be at least 3 or so times the size of Whiterun, for instance.

At least 5 times of Windhelm cmon

Oh yes with random effects some good some bad :)

You gotta have proper trolls.

Yeah that's gonna be a tough one

A proper representation of Ankh-Morpork needs to be bigger than that. Such a metropolis would probably kill even the best computer out there, but if Ankh-Morpork is divided up into several cells, it should be doable. Several cells for AM also allow us to collaboratively work on many parts of the city at once and there won't be issues with matching the borders (like mods with big landscaping tasks encounter) due to the fact that seperate cells are used. Walls, houses and other stuff can act as seperators while invisible borders behaving like a door will allow players to visit different parts of the cities (the Shades will be especially interesting).

According to previous TES games, it is possible to merge mods, so if many people simply create a single interior cell, a lot of work could be achieved in a short time.

Unfortunately, I suck at scripting, modeling and texturing (and we will need proper buildings, furniture, clutter, clothing and material for Ankh-Morpork), but since Morrowind, I know how to create and furnish interiors. If you need my help, you will get it.

By the way, what about the river Ankh? Should you die while swimming in it or should you be able to walk onto it?

In my oppinion, this would qualify for a total conversion. Just get rid of all unnecessary Skyrim baggage to save precious memory and processing power.

Ideas for game starts:

1. The player wakes up at the shore of the Ankh with amnesia. He then needs to remember who he is and what has happened -> this can lead to several stories.

2. Alternatively, the player could wake up in the prison - a classical TES beginning. The patrician calls you and asks you if you believe in angels. You then have two choices: either you cooperate with the most democrtic ruler of Ankh-Morpork or he, in his generosity, allows you to leave the room through the one and only door. Fans of Pratchett know where this door leads to...

I was going to divide it up but instead of having doors or gates I was going to see how Bethesda worked the cave entrances and have Districts connected by these. As of the Ankh I was thinking along the lines of you can walk along crusty bits spread throughout the 'river' but mostly you can swim in it but it will deal out gradual damage and give diseases. And has anyone got any ideas about the seamstress', how will they work like the prostitutes in fallout? Or will they just be for radiant stories? Edited by slaineify
