phobrek
I was checking out an old mod request called New Quest: Dude, Where's My Horse? and was hoping it was suggesting a quest in which you wake up to find your horse is missing, and have to go through all kinds of detective work and hilarity to track it down. Maybe when you find your horse, it has "SWEET" tattooed on its butt. This reminded me of the disappointing Sanguine's "A Night To Remember" quest, which seemed like it was supposed to be like this (maybe more pointedly mimicking The Hangover's premise) but for me was quickly and easily broken. SPOILER ALERT for quest: "A Night To Remember" After an amusing enough conversation and clean-up chore in the Temple, I went on my way, and didn't immediately follow through on the quest immediately, as I'd been doing something else when all this started. At some point I spoke with a random stranger, and she demanded payment for some wedding ring I bought, so I buy it, and get barely any info in exchange... I apparently proposed to some woman? The briefest bits of dialogue, lacking humor, just pointed me quickly to some other name and location, and then to the end of the quest. I never did find this woman I was supposedly marrying. So, now I've read the walkthrough of this quest and it sounds way more entertaining, like I'd imagined it should have been... more steps, that sound quite funny. So my mod request is for someone to fix this quest, because it seemed like it should have been a lot of fun, but ended up being easily broken and was just left as some random-seeming, confusing bit of nonsense that broke game immersion. Is there a way to make it so that if you encounter one of the quest NPCs out of order, they give you a default commoner's dialogue? I imagine if I went back to that wedding ring seller she'd now have that kind of dialogue at the ready, so it would be a matter of tracking the quest's completed steps to determine which dialogue to use. I guess. I know nothing of the actual making of mods or the variables one can use to make changes. After that, if someone wanted to make a "Dude, Where's My Horse?" quest I'd be doubly grateful! phobrek
Oh, in case you don't want to look at the original Dude, Where's My Horse? request, it was just a request for a mod to help find lost horses, which is already addressed by at least one mod now. eclipsezero
IIRC the woman you are talking about is in Whiterun? I ran into the same issue, postponed the quest, went to Whiterun and suddenly got info i had no clue about. Confused the hell out of me until i read up on the wiki :V So yeah, +1 from me, this fix would be great.
phobrek
Ah, yeah, she was in Whiterun, I'm pretty sure. I had no idea what she was on about. I even stumbled my way into the finale of the quest by exploring some random dungeon I'd found, which ended up being its last location. GMatthews
Same exact thing happened to me. Ysolde or Ysolda is the one that grills you about the ring. From what I can tell I can still continue on the quest it just skips a couple of steps regarding a goat and a hagraven that seem to be the fun parts. I even tried to reset the quest with the console and it does nothing. So yeah, I agree. It is annoying.
