capitancrunch
Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating by opening the menu and picking a potion/weapon/spell/etc because I can sit and chug potions one after the other and equip new stuff while the enemy sits there frozen. It seems like it makes combat all too easy if you've got a ton of potions in your inventory. I think it would be more challenging if the menu opened up while action is still going on in the bg - forcing you to find a spot to hide while picking your stuff. Would such a thing be at all possible to implement? Perhaps having the bg run at full speed is a bit much, but 50%, or even 25% speed should be a good balance. Maybe a less difficult-to-create version would be to implement it with the favorites menu only, since I'd imagine the full menu UI causes a substantial resource drain. What do you think? The other idea I had, which would probably be way too much work to do, would be to animate potion drinking during combat to provide essentially the same challenge - making it impossible to drink multiple potions while the combat pauses. JanusForbeare
It would make the game a LOT harder (I think hotkeys would be a necessity) but also a lot more realistic, which I definitely approve of. I'd like to see a similar concept extended to both lockpicking and reading. Sometimes I want to kill time in-game reading while I do something else IRL, it'd be nice if time actually passed in those instances.
