Rennn Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Does anyone know if it would be possible (not how to do it, but merely if it's possible) to use Script Dragon to insert some kind of chat bot functionality into Skyrim, as a separate add-on from regular dialogue? For example, press 'E' to speak regularly with an npc, or press 'L' (or any key, it doesn't matter which) to open chat bot dialogue with that npc, so you could actually type a question like 'Which direction is Whiterun?' (or, 'Are you single?' ) and the npc would reply dynamically depending on the syntax of the question. This software is already being used in indie-games and in standalone programs. Does anyone know if it would be possible to mod into Skyrim?
JanusForbeare Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) I've seen online chatbots linked to objects in Second Life. Theoretically, I suppose someone could create and host a chatbot that used Skyrim actors as its avatars, but I have no idea how one would go about coding that. EDIT: Note that with the current state of the technology it would likely be pretty immersion-breaking, as most chatbots are stupid as hell. Edited January 11, 2012 by JanusForbeare
LiamFarley1998 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Next step would be voice recognition and advanced speech software. Call it IRISAI (siri spelled backwards) if this comes into existence we could do amazing things, have it so you can say sorry for stealing something I didn't know it was yours or apologize for punching someone.
AllanOcelot Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 And when the bots get too smart? I'm sorry, I slay dragons, not the next terminator xD
