I know how to get custom effects into the game just fine, but I'm having a hell of a time getting them to a level that matches with the rest of the game. They keep ending up much too loud or much too quiet. My current system is to bind the audio sample to a weapon (well, "weapon") that I made for this purpose, load the game, fire the testing gun, quite the game, load the sample, change the level, and try again. And again. And again. There has got to be some better way, right? Some baseline number of dB that I work from?
