Bismarck
Hopefully, someone will make "Morrowind Comes Alive" for Skyrim. NPCs randomly spawn in interior and exterior cells. Maybe an agressive drunk can be found in a tavern from time to time who needs to be shut up by a pair of fists. Wanderers, bards, rogues and merchants could wander the streets of Skyrim and offer services, a good fight or just some advice.Should be possible. The easiest possibility would be the travelers. Just generate a bunch of NPCs with the respawn flag (so they come back after being killed) and properly define their AI. This way, you will have NPCs that travel through the world. The other features require coding which I am not good with, but maybe someone else will help us out.
Jaguarnaut
More NPCs and harmless creatures everywhere for those with computers that can handle it! Cities are just not crowded enough, and there are not enough birds flying around, nowhere near enough.
JanusForbeare
How about a quest to repopulate the world? You can't solve this one with your voice, Dovahkiin...
PsxMeUP
I’d like to see a mod that randomly spawns various NPCs outside of cities for my looting pleasure. The game has Stormcloaks, Imperials, hunters, bandits, the occasional thieves and rogue mages, but that’s about it. I’d love to see random treasure hunters, miners and alchemists, and like Bismarck said, even bards (I've seen a few bards out in the wild already). When you kill them you get a crap load of their loot.
toastysquirrel
I'd love to see a mod that adds more dynamics and greater number to the wandering / random non-creature NPCs in Skyrim. But my request is specifically intended to keep the country from turning into a ghost town if / when the pre-existing NPCs are slain, whether by us players or other NPCs. Having the children "grow up" would be cool, but obviously wouldn't work with the game's default calendar. In my current game only 150 game-days have passed. To be "realistic" it would take about 2,920 days before any of the current kids aged to adulthood. Plus I also think coding that might be an arduous task. No, instead I'm still excited about anyone who takes up the reigns and implement some manner of my original idea... Spawn new or random NPCs to replace the original slain NPCs. Names could be generic "Winterhold citizen", "farmer", "blacksmith" etc. Or perhaps it could pull names from a pre-generated text file of names. Appearances of new NPCs could be random or re-use models of existing "slain" characters. If all else fails for spawning "new" NPCs, I suppose it could simply respawn the slain NPC. toastysquirrel
Now that the CK's out, I'd like to 'resurrect' this seemingly popular idea. :) Edited February 11, 2012 by toastysquirrel
Bismarck
We really need to revive several popular mods from the past to improve Skyrim. This repopulation mod could be named "Skyrim Comes Alive" and offer similar features like the Morrowind version. The first step would be a concept. Which kinds of NPCs should spawn?NPCs in buildings, towns (compatibility with Open Cities would be great) and exteriors. We should be able to meet members of the different guilds, Imperial patrols, ambushes by enemies/bandits, merchant caravans, couriers, travelers, journeymen, rangers, hunters, visitors from other provinces etc.
