No Fast Travel, AT ALL, EVER!

not even the Ancient Dragons represent any kind of serious threat . I don't realy understand why anyone who's lvl 40 and up would complain about dragons.

Whaat!?

I take it that you play on easy with 100% Fire and Frost resist, because my lvl 48 character gets 1-shot by "Elder" Dragons. He has over 500 HP and dies from one Fire shout. You can say, but how easy is it to avoid a dragon shout, well not that easy when you have concerns like saving NPC from getting eaten or fighting trolls, or two dragons at the same time.

Personally i pity people who use exploits and essentially enable god-mode and complain it's too easy.

I think the original reason that fast travel was even put into these type of games was purely to try and cater for the more "immediate" type of gamer, people who liked the fighting etc but would have been more at home with first person shooters or the GTA type experience. Personally I honestly think they should make two titles one with fast travel and one without it would be that big of a deal to them I am sure. I suppose this is because I am an all or nothing type of guy but I feel the full RPG experience is better served by making the game more difficult.

I play master, using Nightingale armor (50% resist to frost) and jewelry with resist but no exploit (40% resist to shock and fire), level 58 with 350 health (I'm jack of all trades bosmer, I got high stamina and high magicka too. lol) I can tank an Elder dragon's Frost breath (well not exactly tank, I can survive 1 blast with about 1/4 of my life left), although I don't usually get hit full on since I run around always, so not sure if I can do that receiving a full blast. A basic Dragon is easy though, and an Ancient Dragon I think may be able to one shot me. I get killed by an Elder Dragon if I let it bite me though. They always do that kill animation on me.

Yeah, you must have a terrible time with that Animation when you get into melee range. Used to happen to me a lot, that's when i decided to stop stacking stamina and put a little extra into HP.

Good that you don't use cheap exploits and whinge that it's too easy. Still i can't bring myself to use any resist gear, makes me feel cheap lol.

strolls through skyrim are much more challenging and entertaining....so far i witness epic storm cloaks vs legion vs ice anorachs...fights between werewolves and vampires i kid you not....and giants and mammoths being ambushed by bandits.... and so much more

i have been killed several times over.....epic times.....

Also trying master now, after two normal beninning chars, which was WAY too easy.

Not doing any "push enchant for pushing alchemy for pushing enchant for pushing smithery" junk.

i am level 22 now, just started yesterday by doing some normal smithery, then realized that this damn monsters are way tooo tough, and am now trying to hook up with some quests where i am not alone, did some real tricky non-poition-left things in the companion quest "Proving_Honor" where i had to do some loading due to three silver-hands and no potion left. hard , tricky, but atleast, after an hour, this three went down.

My two blades have just apx 35 damage each, so...not really "punishing", but now i find out, why the "KRI" will be my favourite for a nice long time.

Also done already, without any fighting neraly (one fight in the basement) was the thieves guild quest at goldenglow. run forest, run xD

nevertheless creepy was the Ivarstead quest with the sapphire claw. The last Draugr, didn't get me at all. Love sneaking, changing watersides, and my bow :)

So far... 10 hours of playing, haven't seen too much now, apx 10 - 15 locations, where one is a Giant's place i sure will not visit that soon again -.-

I HOPE that the built will come in handy, though, i fear a little because of sometimes a damn draugr wight can really gimme hell of a fight...nevertheless IT'S FUN !

Atleast the potions and poisons make sense...enchantements make sense....even FOOD makes sense xD

Have fun, really...i am looking forward for your experiences written in your blog,

Ah..btw :

MAKE PICTURES :) I will....

Once I got the mod that makes roads clear on the map, I bought a horse and rode everywhere. It's a whole different game. It really makes barricades a lot more of a challenge, like Forts Dunstad and Kustav. Until I leveled up, I absolutely could not get through those. I had to backtrack and detour all the way around a mountain to get to Winterhold, because Kustav was full of hostile, high-level mages spamming ice spears or something.

About the first 200 hours of when I played Oblivion I didn't even realize fast travel existed. Actually it kind of made the game more interesting that I had to walk everywhere.

Lmao, me too. I remember walking from Chorrol to get Martin in Kvatch, then BACK to Chorrol, just to travel all the way to the temple above Bruma. About 1/5th of the entire province and it took forever. Skyrim seems just as big, but sprint and Wuld Nah Kest makes traveling a lot quicker.
