Deleted9173440User
Hello, I could use some help. I have added a crown (BoneCrown) to a custom creature race I have created for my mod. I am using NifSkope as I do not have Blender nor would I know how to use it. It has taken me long enough just to learn the CK and NifSkope. I did the typical copy branch / paste branch and renamed and hit apply. Hair is set to 131. The crown renders perfectly through NifSkope and the creation kit. However, in game it floats above the creature's head like he's having "a thought". I feel as though I am missing some small step. I have been working on this for 3 days and decided to reach out for some help. Thank you. - Junk
skinnytecboy
The Crown is floating because it doesn't contain the skin information related to your creatures head. You need to skin it (paint weights) so that it knows how to reacte when the creature moves. Try using Outfit studio. I'm not an expert with this program, but I'm aware that it can be used to paint weights. Google is your friend :)
Deleted9173440User
Obviously my Google search didn't help or I wouldn't have wasted my time posting here. It CAN be done through NifSkope alone as I have discovered. Edited January 17, 2017 by Guest

Tamira
Just to make it clear:I DID the horker helmet with Nifskope only, so it can be done, but I only tried it with a horker.

Robbie922004
Shamelessly bumping this thread. @Tamira, @junk373, if either of you are still around would you be willing to share your method for adding meshes to creatures using Nifskope only? Every other tutorial I've read has involved Blender or another modeling program. Just trying to put some armor on some skeletons. And I mean literal spooky skeletons not 3D-model lingo skeletons. :D Edited October 7, 2017 by Robbie922004
