thatsracist
This has happened a couple of times now. I had just made a whole entire city yesterday and when I load it back up today almost everything is gone except for some of the things I added just before saving and exiting the editor. So now my whole entire city is gone; all the roads, sidewalks, buildings, and some of the highway. Why is the GECK deleting items I place in my new worldspace? This is extremely frustrating to have all this work go to waste.
thatsracist
I just loaded it again and even MORE stuff is gone. Almost everything is gone now. WTF?
Werne
Do you set your plugin as active when loading it?
thatsracist
Well when I double click to open it, it says it isn't active and asks if I want to make it active and I always press yes, so is that not the same thing?
thatsracist
Nevermind, it only asks if I want to continue. So if I had not been making it active when opening, what would that do to my plugin?
Werne
Well, judging by the description provided (it only saves recent chages and removes everything else) it's acting like it's not set as active. I personally hate GECK, but it's required for cell editing, unless you're a mathematical genius to use NVEdit. Does the GECK save a new plugin when you try to save or does it save it in the one you opened? And do you run GECK as an administrator (that tends to screw up things)? EDIT: If you don't set it as active the GECK will screw up your mod, since it's not made to use esp's as masterfiles, only NVEdit can do that. thatsracist
Administrator, no. But I will do that from now on. And yes, if I open up a previous plugin that I have been working on and I try to save, it prompts me to make a brand new save. However, that's only for the first time I try to save after loading up that plugin. After that I can save over the plugin whenever I want, until I close and open it again and then that process repeats. I hadn't been making my plugin as active. So now it seems that my "world" is separated through 4 different .esps. I would now need somehow combine them together I guess, if there is a way. thatsracist
I think I figured it out. I am quite new to this, and the GECK although simple, program wise, is very complicated. I reopened all the versions of the plugin I had and cut and pasted in place to one world (it made several copies). I just then saved it, deleted the other worlds. Thanks for your help. :) Kudos+
