Jones813 Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Like how you can give Curie a synth body, are there any mods that do this for Codsworth without issues? I saw a few that replace Codsworth's body but they all mention having issues in their descriptions and none of them have a story explanation like Curie gets. Anyone know of a mod that lets you give Codsworth a synth body that works properly and isn't just a magic "tada he has a body now" thing? I even think a Gen 2 body for Codsworth would work nicely. Galvon94 Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 There are a few reasons I can think of as to why this would be difficult to accomplish in the way you want. The story would have to either be silent, or reuse lines from the game. Unless you managed to rope in Stephen Russel, or someone who can otherwise sound like Codsworth. As far as I understand, the synth Curie is a seperate character from the robot Curie as far as the game is concerned. This is how Bethesda worked around those issues with changing an exsisting actor's race. If you wanted to use this method for Codsworth, you would have to, rather invasively, duplicate all that makes him the character he is. And even then any mods/quests that involve Codsworth would be looking for the OLD one, not the new one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Perraine Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Sounds like all they've done is changed his mesh, which as Galvon94 pointed out is NOT the way it should be done, because there are literally hundreds of scripts and keywords tied to many of these NPC's and it would be nigh on impossible to "fix" them all to work properly = Easier just to kill the first character after a certain trigger, and replace it with an entirely new one. I am not a modder of this game, so I am not sure what it would take to do so. However that may be the best work around for the jet effect. Change the body to an asaultron and then run the mod to change Codsworth. Just a thought. I have wondered about this, and Ada from the Machinist expansion.
