What kinds of mods do women like?

For what it's worth, I have never once gone on the mod pages of the mods I dislike and bad mouthed them. I absolutely follow the "don't like it, don't comment" rule of the Nexus.

I know you haven't and my apologizes if you thought I was implying that about you :D. You're a good person and I've known that for quite some time by looking at your mod pages and your comments and these little discussions that we sometimes have ^^

I was just making a general observation about the majority of Nexus users who think they own the place and can criticize everyone and everything that bursts their little safety bubble. My favorite types of mods being the Nazi ones where so many people lose their s*** and insult the mod author because he wants to dress as a Nazi. I don't support Nazis, but even I admit that their fashion was one of the best of that era. Who doesn't like leather longcoats.

And I completely understand that not all my mods are for everyone, don't worry about it ^^ I am someone who likes to create variety, so one day I'll make normal looking clothes, the second day I'll make a lore-friendly outfit. And then the third day I'll completely go haywire and release something that looks absolutely out of place, like the Queen Of Bones xD Btw, don't know if you have checked it out already, but my Clothing Of The Commonwealth has a ton of nice outfits with jeans, I'm also a sucker for jeans ^^

But yeah, some people simply can't shake the fact that I make barefoot outfits, as if it's the weirdest thing ever. Boobs and vaginas the size of planets are acceptable and people got used to them (sort of), but a person making barefoot outfits which are not skimpy or nude? Ewww, gross. Although it's not some of my mods being barefoot, it's all of my mods having barefoot variations :D The latest person who found it weird asked me if I'm Joss Whedon. I had no idea who that was, so I looked him up and he's a movie director in whose movies women, and occasionally men, are mostly barefoot.and the media finds it a big issue when people like feet or legs in general.

I just find it funny, because back in the old days when fashion was quite distinct and feminine and women wore dresses and skirts (wish I could have lived back then), men were going nuts whenever a woman showed her legs. Having beautiful looking legs was pretty much what being nude is today. Today, nothing is left to imagination. So I find it quite weird that in 2016-2017, people find feet so weird, when up until 2000 it was an extremely common thing and legs were one of the most concentrated and worshiped parts of a body. The whole reason why I have Catwoman from the Animated series stamped across all my pages is because it reminds me of a time when being sexy was all about being feminine, charming, intellectual and classy. It was about beautiful outfits and dresses and legs.

Maybe people who find it weird live in the wrong countries and look at the wrong people. I come from Croatia where it's 6 months cold and 6 months hot. Women wear shorts all the time and no matter where you turn, it's legs legs feet legs feet legs. I am a shy person and I try to avoid looking at them, but you can't escape it. And it does not help that 90% of the girls in Croatia look like super-models that would put to shame a professional super-model in the world. You can't escape it :D! So feet and legs to me are a natural every day thing and they're as sexy as the other parts of the body. But if some people are looking at barefoot trolls all their life, I guess that's why they find it so weird. I don't know ^^

Hahaha I never really thought about the Nazis that way. It's really hard to overlook their politics, though I can understand someone might like to roleplay evil characters and they're certainly a good choice for that. I love playing Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild in Skyrim. But I never really thought about the fact that the Nazis really were pretty snazzy dressers!

I'm glad you don't think I'm bad-mouthing the mods I don't care for, I wasn't really sure based on some of your statements which I thought might have been directed at me. :D

In that case, my apologizes again for thinking that. I would not think ill of you since you're one of the people on this site I actually highly respect.

Whenever I have a problem with someone, I make sure they're aware of it, so no worries ^^

I can't answer the OP's question, but I can tell you what *I* want as a female gamer for this game.

I want non-violent solutions. To be able to convince one raider group to give up being raiders.

I want to be able to subdue enemies without killing them.

I want a prolog mod that emulates that first night of Project Brazil, where everything you do affects your character, all without violence. I'd like to have a week to define my character, is Nate a stay at home dad, or does he work in robot repair? Is he discharged or in the reserves or on extended furlough and could be called back to service at any time? Let me build a relationship with the spouse that makes me the player give a damn about him/her. Breathe some life into these characters!

Let there be a sidequest where the only objective is to bond with real Shaun. Have dinner with the guy, or shoot at the range, or if you've got the intelligence, talk with him about science or literature. Let it be as awkward and darkly funny, or poignant and sad. Give us a humanizing moment with a character who frankly comes off as a sociopath.

Wow. That's a high compliment coming from a mod author I had lots of respect for myself! That seriously made my day. :)

Pretty much the same as our male counterparts! With some exceptions, which are mostly due to my personal tastes more than my being a woman. Not a fan of genitals out, of either kind. And I like swords more than guns. What does bother me as a woman, and I think other women will agree, is when the male version of an armor is practical and the female version is sexualized. I don't mind sexy outfits, though I feel like a lot of them are a contest to cover the least skin possible rather than an attempt at something that looks good. But I do mind there being only bikini armors, even the ones that are presented as "heavy armor". You can make sexy outfits that don't look like a stripper's work clothes. You can make sexy armor that is practical and won't expose your sensitive areas to the first bullet that flies, if you're not already dead from a random decorative bit actually stabbing you or the whole thing chafing your skin raw.

Also, rape mods. What the f*#@?

There are rape mods for Fallout?! Actually, I disagree with you, rape mods are totally appropriate for post apocalyptic games, for Grand Theft Auto titles, and just about any fantasy game. If I wanted to play an evil, shitty human being, I would want the option to rape. Rape anything: men, women, children, squirrels, corpses, statues, knotholes etc.I don't want to play a shitheel, and I think it makes you a bad person to roleplay a shitheel (a character is not you but does represent your desire in playing the game), but the option should always be there.

Considering 1 in 2 women have experienced some sort of sexual violence, surely you can understand that some of us may not appreciate rape mods whether you consider it lore appropriate or not. :armscrossed:

A lot of people have also experienced mutilation, dismemberment, imprisonment, slavery, torture or murder. And yet... here we are. A very successful game filled with lunatic raiders who are raping, killing, butchering, mutilating and all that... and people are okay with that.

Cait in particular was used in sick and twisted ways, she says so herself.

I personally would rip someone's d*** off if they raped one of my family members, but in a game ? Hell, I'd try that mod. Games and movies are made so that the person can experience and live the life of someone else. I am quite a gentle soul in real life. I go into huge arguments whenever I see someone from my family squash a spider. Just because it's a creature so insignificantly small compared to a human does not mean we have a right to take away its life just like that and never think about it afterwards.

In games however, I like to be free. If I feel like killing, I'll kill. If I feel like raping, I'll rape. If I feel like imprisoning people and making slaves of them, I'll do it. As long as it's in a game and nobody is getting hurt, I say go for it.

Not really. I've been subjected to quite severe, chronic violence in my life. I've been choked until I passed out, but I don't see it as being in poor taste when Corvo does it in Dishonored. I lived for several years with the not unfounded fear my brother was going to creep into my room and kill me when he got bored with me, so while I don't like survival horror all that much, I don't begrudge others engaging in it.

Don't get me wrong, *I* would never play with a rape mod installed. I think installing a rape mod makes you a bad person. I think playing Manhunt makes you a bad person. I'm thoroughly ashamed I share a species with Vampire the Masquerade players and as a rule will have nothing to do with them. However, as shitty as doing these things are, they have a right to do them. They shouldn't, but they have the right.
